This whole idiotic thing of who, exactly, shoved this reporter is also deflecting attention away from the larger, far more terrifying issue, which is:

It has become acceptable—expected, even—for people to be injured and/or assaulted at Trump events.

Seriously, the question shouldn’t be “was it his campaign manager who shoved her or someone else,” it should be “why is there a story every other day about reporters/ photographers/ protesters/ black people getting injured at Trump events?”

I really, really hope one of the growing number of people with Trump-related medical expenses pursues legal action, or that something happens to stop this before we get our first Trump rally execution. (Which CNN will no doubt cover with fawning praise, noting the presidential manner in which Trump oversaw a mob slaughtering an innocent bystander.)

      Let’s go through this:

      1. No one was assaulted.

      2. No one was shoved. An adult reporter was going after a question after the time for questions was over and one of the people walking behind the potential Republican nominee pulled her out of the way.

      3. There are stories every day about incidents at Trump rallies because people are constantly disrupting Trump rallies. If a bunch of rednecks or people in MAGA hats started screaming at every single Democratic rally, do you think that nothing would happen?

So, no woman should take a job in any hostile work environment? Got it.

Taking a job with a shitty bunch of people doesn’t excuse them being shitty to you, imo.

This is, objectively speaking, insane! For Pollack to conclude, without seeing footage of the actual incident, that his own colleague either lied or misrepresented the facts, is insane.

Gabrielle, you are a woman, I presume, no? As am I. What they’re doing to her isn’t even insane for a male-dominated workplace in general, let alone this baby-man tantrum machine. They’d be “insane” to disingratiate themselves with who I am assuming are a misogynistic audience. They don’t really lose much in suggesting she was mistaken. They lose a lot if they lose their access to or perceived favor toward/from Trump.

The problem with this analysis is that Pollack isn’t questioning Fields: He’s questioning the WP reporter. Fields, in her telling of the events had to ask him who did it and he said it was Lewandowksi. So she didn’t actually see the incident herself.

But Pollack didn’t see it either. He’s doubting the veracity of the only witness, in favor of a theory that saves face for Trump and Breitbart. They told their reporter to shut up, and they are doing the spinning here.

Given the context of this site now being basically a fansite for Trump, I think it’s naive to suggest that this highly convenient spin is accurate. ANd besides, your boss telling you to shut up and publicly announcing that you are mistaken is not a whole lot better than him calling you a liar.

Writing women or POC off as delusional or crazy is seriously the easiest thing in the world. There is video of him going to grab her. There is video of a black man being sucker punched at a rally. But Trump can say she is delusional and he was violent and people will believe it.

Makes sense to me. It has been scientifically proven that women and POC have worse eyesight than men. I think they just use sonar, like bats.

It did happen. It didn’t happen. Either way isn’t it traditional at this point for Fields to apologize to Donald Trump?
