All Lewandowski had to do was apologize. He only had to say, “We were rushing to get him out of there, I didn’t realize I grabbed you so hard, I’m really sorry, I never would have done that in any normal, un-rushed circumstance, please accept my apology.” He didn’t even have to really mean it; there’s enough latitude in that statement for him to be an utter shitbag and still sound like he’s apologizing.

And yet … and yet …

The sheer arrogance is un-FUCKING-believable. We are at DEFCON 3, people, make no mistake.

  Don’t worry, Breitbart isn’t backing her up. They love Trump too much. They point out that Fields didn’t see what happened and the WaPo reporter could be mistaken or lying. I waded into the Breitbart comments on Fields' writeup on the incident. The consensus among their readership seems to be that she is a fake conservative, she too pretty to be a good reporter and/or she making stuff up because she's a stupid woman.

According to this report in the Daily Beast, unnamed sources claim that Lewandowski has actaully privatey admitted he did this:

sources said Lewandowski acknowledged to Breitbart’s Washington political editor, Matthew Boyle, that he did manhandle Fields.
Lewandowski’s explanation to Boyle, said these sources, was that he and Fields had never met before and that he didn’t recognize her as a Breitbart reporter, instead mistaking her for an adversarial member of the mainstream media.

If this is true, why would Boyle cover up Lewandowski’s confession, insead of reporting it? And if he is covering it up, how long will he continue to do so if Trump and Lewandowski keep blatantly lying, and smearing Fields?

  Not only is Alex Marlow (Breitbart.com’s head honcho) almost definitely a true believer in Trump and a natural born nativist, but by casting his lot with Trump he’s also playing a very ballsy game of chicken with Fox. Marlow has been itching to have a seat at the grownups table—er, “cool junior high schooler lunch table” maybe—for years now since he (rightly) believes that Breitbart Media has been more influential in shaping the current GOP than Fox.
