Trust me, the sentiment is very, very mutual. Here in Kansas, we have our own, possibly even more universally loathed governor with delusions of presidency. We feel your pain, New Jersey.

“If he had not been in the race,” he said, referring to Trump, “I would have been the nominee.”

He said to himself, sobbing, as he sat in his wine cellar on a late Tuesday night, a bottle of 2003 red wine clutched in one hand and a hamburger in the other, a long dribble of wine already splashed across his white undershirt, his button-down hanging open and his suit jacket tossed aside, not even draped over the chair, discarded like he himself discarded his principles, and similarly abandoned in the exhausting late-night angst.

in the heart of New Jersey horse country

Since I’m kind of tired of talking about Trump, where exactly is horse country in New Jersey? I’d never heard of the region; then again, I’ve only ever been on the turnpike.

Morris and Sussex county, out in the northwest. Its quite beautiful, lots of hills and valleys. Jackie O had her ranch around there, and the U.S. Dressage training headquaters is in my town.

The hilarious secret about NJ is that there are breathtakingly beautiful sections of it, and TONS of money up north. Peapack-Gladstone, Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, Morristown, and more!

“It started out professional, but I think it’s definitely evolved into a more personal relationship,” Dale Florio, a longtime Republican fund-raiser in New Jersey, said of the Trump-Christie connection.

What a truly repulsive couple they are.

Christie, who celebrates his 30th wedding anniversary this week, plans to leave Tuesday for a vacation with his wife and one of his daughters. He has not said where he is going,

Do you have any idea how many strings he had to pull to get those tickets for Jersey Boys?

He rented a limo and everything! Reservations at Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar. Next stop Flavortown!

Chris Christie being terrible aside now that running for president has become a full-time book tour I really wouldn’t mind a new law saying that you can’t file presidential FEC paperwork while holding elected/appointed office. Either you are all in or you are out, none of this neglecting your current job as a backup plan.

So many quotes and exchanges in this article scream ‘New Jersey is crooked’.

“It’s the job of the governor to set down parameters for negotiation, which are executed by the professionals who the state has hired to negotiate these contracts.” Translation: ‘I got my lawyer friends a fat fee. Now they owe me.’ It’s a well known fact that the law firm that investigated ‘Bridgegate’, and collected millions in state taxpayer money in the process donated over $250,000 (through its partners and employees)to Christie’s campaign. This republican- white shoe -golf outing-glad handing firm also neglected to retain interview notes from the case, resulting in this:

    http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf…

    http://www.nj.com/opinion/index.…

The tab for this fiasco has grown to over $7M

The ‘Kushner’ mentioned in the above is either Murray or Jonathan, principals in Kushner Real Estate Group, or Charles and Jared of Kushner Companies, which is NYC based. KRE is one of the NJs biggest developers.

JARED IS DONALD TRUMP’S SON IN LAW. Kushner Cos. has acquired land in Journal Square Jersey City, an ethnically diverse, mostly low income area of walk ups and small storefront retail businesses. Journal square is also a major transit hub, with a 20-25 minute PATH train commute to WTC and midtown Manhattan.

Plans call for a 1500 unit residential development with ground floor shopping. This:

    http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.s…

There’s currently no provision in the plan for affordable housing units, and of course there’s talk of a 30 year tax abatement incentive from the state.

‘Mr. Christie did not disagree, this person said, but “he was afraid to do it — he’s never been afraid of anybody.”’ At least when he holds a position of power in government, that is. As a chubby kid who couldn’t climb a rope in gym class and walked around in fear of an unexpected public wedgie from the football team, I doubt he was a bastion of bravery.

With Christie’s political career and leverage soon coming to an end, and by following the crossflow of money described above, it’s easy to see why Christie is the one now ‘down on his knees’ before Trump. After his years of self serving chicanery, bullying, double dealing and failed alliances, Christie is about as well liked among his cohorts as Ted Cruz and is now as out in the cold as a naked suicide jumper on the GWB in January.

Disclosue: I took the time to write this because I pay $10,500 a year in property tax for a house worth about $280,000. For this I get my garbage collected, street plowed, police protection and an average school system. I am simply trying to fathom where all this money goes.
