why didn’t they apply for citizenship when they came to america and began to benefit from the freedoms they were afforded? and they obviously came here to benefit, or else, why did they choose to come here? and they stayed, so they must have realized the benefit, so why not apply upon coming here? to drive down wages of citizens, particularly africans-americans, because that is what these free loaders did. yet, we expect them to vote in the best interests of our country? I am voting against whoever these freeloaders are going to vote for.

don’t fear, though, they’re paying all the same taxes you are

also, their votes will cancel yours out

mostly because up until extremely recently there was a ten-year waiting period to do so, with no guarantees you’d be accepted at the end; the Bush administration believed quite firmly in a ‘don’t allow legal immigration, but also don’t prevent illegal immigration’ policy, as that keeps labor cheap and rural Texans easy to frighten into voting R.

Obama’s taken steps towards trying to make it possible for people to come to the country legally while simultaneously deporting more people than any president in the history of the US.

turns out that as anyone with any Irish or Eastern European family can tell you, if you take care of immigrants, they will take care of you.

I have first-generation friends, mostly Mexican-Americans, who see Trump as not merely a bigot or a clown, but a mortal threat to their families’ continued existence. They are wholeheartedly prepared to fight as hard as necessary to ensure his racist ass stays out of the Oval Office. The more the merrier.

America has always derived much of its particular social and commercial vitality from the ambition and hard work of those who have elected to make America their home. Think about that: Immigration is the highest compliment the people of the world can pay to this country. To spit in their face for embracing the liberty and opportunity our nation represents is nothing less than a repudiation of this country’s most fundamental virtues.

Sadly, demonizing recent immigrants has been part of the fabric of our political discourse from the start. But Trump certainly has raised it to a new level in recent memory. If you only needed one reason to oppose him, this would be a good one.

Yeah. You know, when you’re not a straight white male of a decent income, Republicans in charge can mean life or death for you. I have no fucking tolerance for anyone who votes conservatively anymore. I don’t give a shit if you’re voting because of the delusion of lower taxes or something - you are voting for people who want to fuck almost everyone over, and that is unforgivable.

I wonder how massive a narcissist you truly have to be to see practically an entire nation (and international community) rising up against you and still consider yourself a good guy/worth anything. What kind of mental hurdles do you have to go through to get to sleep at night knowing how many people really, truly hate you.

But like all trolls, as long as it’s attention, whatever kind of attention, he can feed and sustain himself on it. What a pathetic creature.

No. They’re the type who’ll make other people die. I’m not eager for the day Conservatives realize the ballot box is never going to deliver the change they want, and am hoping they’ll remain delusional until they’re old and harmless.

See, I would almost have said that Trump truly IS turning out to unite people—unite people unaminously against himself—but then I realized you’d still have to cull all those halfwits that are supporting him in the first place. If only we could get rid of them, we would be soooo close to making America great.

On the night of November 8th, he’ll make his concession speech while sitting in a drum circle, having ditched the combover for a bandana, and say “You’re welcome, brothers and sisters of America. Peace and love forever.”

Every society has a sizable minority of revanchists who want to perpetually relitigate everything that has ever happened that they don’t like and will be happy to burn down the village to save it. Many first world nations even have political parties representing them like the UK’s UKIP and France’s National Front. Yep, even super libertine France has a big chunk of such asses.

I’m not sure the president has the authority to deport people here in compliance with laws written by congress. These are legal immigrants, after all. But perhaps they don’t all realize that.

Yeah if you are legal, he doesn’t have any option to deport you. If you aren’t legal, he can make change how ICE handles enforcement.

Serious question: does it bother / scare you that the rest of the world ( and people from other countries who happen to live in the USA), are so much more terrified than y’all?

    Could this be a clue?

The only reason I'm not scared is because every year more republicans die. Based on the fact that the average fox news viewer is around 65, I sincerely doubt they are filling their ranks as fast as they are losing them.

Soooo uhh, Trump is right about being a uniter and bringing people together?

Seriously, at this point you can never tell whether there is a method to Trump’s madness or not, hes defied every single convention, attack or hurdle in his way so I wouldnt be surprised if through some dark magic he ends up twisting this to his advantage as well.

      Help me out here:

      1. Rile up every minority group in America increasing their turnout numbers in such a way that it cancels out the increase in your racist base turnout.

      2. ?

      3. Profit!

That’s the only way this makes, sense, because it doesn’t make sense in politics.

Nothing about this election has made sense so far, whats to say it wont stop? Even everyone’s favorite election guru Nate Silver has had to declare Trump a Black Swan (apocalyptic words to a statistician) because hes just busted in and flipped the tables on all the decades of carefully researched election models that wouldve created a viable result.

Who knows what will happen? Conventional logic and reasonable extrapolation doesnt seem to apply these days, the only person who seems to have a grip on whats going on is Trump and thats only because he created this mess in the first place, worse still is hes likely making it up as he goes along relying purely on low cunning and instinct.

The only historical model we can go on is that almost every republic eventually stagnates and flirts with dictatorship, is this United State’s turn? Is Trump the American Caesar, Napoleon or Mussolini? Fuck knows.

You motherfuckers worried about Trump when Hilary is going to win anyways and we’re still all screwed. Can’t even vote independent because that would just half the republican votes and Hilary would win. I don’t want her to win, don’t want Sanders to win, definitely don’t want Trump to win. I want to go into a Time Machine and live in a time without humans basically. That way if I get screwed over it’s nature going against me and I’m OK with that.

You’re a fool if you don't realize that we're better off with any democrat over any republican. Or you're an upper middle class cis male and you don't give a shit if the government decides that the poors can starve in the street, they own my uterus, and homosexuals have no rights.

because it's not just about the possible deportation of illegal immigrants, it's about someone who would set a policy making it much more difficult for people to enter legally, and who would embolden racist pricks to assume anyone who isn't lily white is an illegal immigrant rapist here to steal our jarbs.

Except he’s never talked about making it more difficult. In fact, he’s explicitly said he wants to make it easier, except in cases where the jobs can be filled locally, as it should be. Legal immigrants should have nothing to fear. Only the criminals.
