    As folks who have a few IVF babies...we clearly were not rich enough to get to select female embryos.

    We likely would have if we could have (we have three boys now), but I’m not sure that is really a thing (and I’m too lazy to google it).

      Apparently, according to my aunt and Japanese old wives tale, if you eat a lot of meat during pregnancy you will have a girl and if you eat a lot of fish you will have a boy. My aunt has two sons and she said she always wanted a girl but loves fish too much.

      Shhh! It’s for the street cred. And, if he does revere his mother, he has a strange way of showing it. I can’t think of any university professor, much less a department head who wouldn’t prefer their son got a solid education and worked in just about any profession besides rap music.I’m not even going to discuss seeing them marry the sort of woman he did.

      Oh fuck that nonsense. I don’t give a single shit about Kanye West or any of his manifold emotional damage, but sneering at rap music is beyond silly. What is this, 1985? Rap musicians have created some of the most electrifying works of verbal artistry of the modern age. Kanye’s a weird old piece of shit, but he is unequivocably gifted. His mastery of complex internal rhyme and percussive flow is extraordinary. His rap stands up. It runs with the best of them.

      His mother would probably be deeply ashamed of his stupid-ass behaviour right now, but his art is impressive, and she’d be proud of his efforts. Shit on Kanye for being a cretinous oaf, not for his creative medium.

      You know what Kanye’s response reminds me of? Have you ever seen EdTv?? The movie where Matthew Mcconaughey is the center of the first ever reality show?? His brother’s (Woody Harrelson) ex girlfriend goes on the show and says about Harrelson, “he was a bad lay...A VERY BAD LAY”. Then like 3 days later, Harrelson brings a random girl on tv and forcefully says to her, “Tell them” and the the random girl goes “We had sex many times...and he’s a great lay”. Don’t know why, but this reminded me of the whole Kanye thing.
