    I’ll hand him this much: he’s one of the few among these rich SOBs currently actively engaged in destroying the republic and undoing centuries of human progress who actually worked his way up to the oligarchy from humble origins.

    Old Sheldon got rich by dint of his own blood, sweat, and larcenous instincts, instead of inheriting a massive fortune plus a lifetime supply of political access and privilege.

    That distinguishes him from the whole DeVos/Scaife/Koch crowd, that Murderers’ Row of megalomaniacal trust fund brats who have bought out the political process as if it were a January white sale.

    So I suppose there’s some virtue, or at any rate some distinction, in being a meritocratic sociopathic billionaire in a herd of hereditary sociopathic billionaires. Good for you, Sheldon: you may be a rotting sack of shit-dust, but at least you’re a self-made rotting sack of shit-dust.

    I can’t stand looking at him. He looks like a pile of oatmeal. What’s crazy is that he looks bad for an 82 year old. If you told me that Sheldon Adelson was 130 years old, I would believe you. If you told me that Sheldon Adelson died 15 years ago and he has a team of ‘handlers’ to animate his body, I would believe you. I’m trying to google “Sheldon Adelson young” and this photo shows up. That’s not only how old Sheldon Adelson is but how old he looks. Sheldon Adelson ages like bananas. Holy shit. He looks like Udo Kier in “Blade” when the sun got to him.

    And I hate everything he stands for.

        Eh, I disagree on all but the last part - denying these fucknuckles mercy would make us just as bad as them. And there’s always time for deathbed recanting, especially when the miserable old asshole is high as a kite.

        The last part though? I’m all over that. It’s like the Pope - the very best thing about the new Pope is that the old Pope is still alive to watch.
