PSA: do not use tylenol or aspirin to OD, because if you survive you might need a new liver (tylenol) or be deaf (aspirin). Among other potentially life-ruining side effects.

Side PSA: if someone you know is drinking and talking about ending their life with Tylenol, it is not a joke and needs to be taken incredibly seriously. As few as six Tylenol combined with alcohol is as dangerous a suicide method as walking into highway traffic. It is highly lethal and exceptionally dangerous.

Similarly for paracetamol, it wrecks a specific metabolic pathway in your liver which takes a minimum of 6 hours to kill you and it’s untreatable.

Is it really necessary to include exactly HOW they died by suicide? The vacuum cord thing is very graphic and triggering - especially for people like me who have lost close loved ones to suicide.

Agreed, it seems gratuitous. I lost a friend to suicide last year. I don’t know for sure how he did it and I don’t want to.

Sad for her family. That one tweet though.. “I didn’t know her, but she was beautiful”... sums up that stupid show.

As the husband of a woman with depression - it’s always to be taken seriously. Life is tough. But when your body and mind decide they want to fight you, it’s even worse.

As a married woman with depression, thank you. Your comment means the world to me. I have a wonderful husband, but it took him a long time to finally understand it's so much more than feeling blue.

Is it me or does reality tv attract people who are fragile or otherwise not 100% upstairs?

Maybe reality TV makes them depressed .....How would you feel if all of a sudden people were talking about you, in a good or a in bad way, all the time. You get famous very quick and then the show stops and boom.....not saying it was her story but this alone is enough to go through depression.

I am wondering if the production of those types of show offers some kind of mental support afterward.....

If she agreed to go on the bachelor, then it’s safe to assume she wasn’t very smart.

Hey, jackass, Lex was a friend of mine and was a very smart woman. Try not to be a garbage human when talking about people you don't fucking know who suffered from mental illness. She worked hard and did the bachelor as one of many try new things in her field type exploits. She also hosted a radio show and supported local women-owned businesses. She was an actual fucking person, not your punchline.

Suicide is the hardest way to lose someone close and my heart is so sad for her and her family. It’s a grief like no other.

If you are in crisis please call 800-273-TALK (8255). The world needs you, no matter how much you think it doesn’t.

What? Here’s what’s absurd: I bet in your circle there are more than a few people who deal with either or both, and you probably don’t even get it.

I was thinking 2 contestants had killed themselves, I didn’t realize it was 3. Seems like an unusually high rate to me.

Trying to look for a comparison, I checked on Survivor contestants as an example: 3 of them have died but none by suicide. It appears that 2 died of cancer and 1 in a train accident.

I wonder if they prey on people who may be vulnerable at that point in their life? If they are struggling, maybe it is easier to exploit them for some “drama”.
