Karlie Kloss is teaching Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom to smize.

Great. Maybe she can teach Kendall next.

Have noticed that her eyes are often a lot less dead when she’s posing with her sisters. Wonder if she’s doing that dead eyed modelling thing on purpose.

Realise that I’ve now spent 300% more time thinking about this than I should.

This must be heartening to the women professionals who noted models being invited to business parties to even out the gender disparity.

Should I even bother to look at the spread, which I’m SURE shows the models with female Silicon Valley execs and coders?

      I haven’t looked yet.

ETA: Nope. No women coders from what I can tell. Models and Professional Men. The way God intended it.

I really don’t get it. What was the point of the spread? Was it “LOL HOT CHICKS TALKIN’ TO NERDS AMIRITE?”

    Just seems super sexist.

This would have been something actually interesting if it were just Karlie and if she were posing with women in Silicon Valley because she supports aspiring female coders. But this is just terrible. They all look very uncomfortable. I mean, there’s one pic with a female exec, so good job I guess?

That was my thought, too. She taught herself how to code, and sponsors a scholarship for girls who want to get into software engineering. But instead she just gets to flip her hair and “smize.”

It seems like a majorly wasted opportunity. She seems like the perfect example of fashion and technology working together, and they waste it on hair movement action shots.

Can it really be an American Vogue spread if there are no models jumping in it, though?

American Vogue at point was the hallmark of everything opulent and legendary. They've devolved into the pedestrian.

as a teenager in the 90's, I was obsessed (I started reading at about age 14, couldn’t get enough!) it really went downhill, though I still read because... I feel like I have to? I don’t know why, actually...

I used to enjoy Vogue. But at some point, watching the same three 20-year-olds* wear $10,000 dresses gets really, really boring.

*Fine. Karlie is 23. She’s got another 2 years of relevance, max.

If this is a Silicon Valley spread, shouldn’t the models be wearing big horn-rimmed glasses to show they are s-m-r-t as well as a pretty face?
