I’ve always been fascinated and curious about the dynamic of their marriage.

Related: a friend of mine met Bill in person once and said that he really does have an otherworldly magnetism and charm, like everyone says.

Yep. I’ve met him and for those few second he’s shaking your hand it’s like being in a laserbeam of concentrated, friendly charisma. It’s honestly breathtaking.

I took a class with one of his former professors who was cranky and aloof as HELL and he begrudgingly admitted the same thing. He also told a pretty hilarious story about Bill sitting him next to the Champion Hog Whistler of Arkansas at a dinner party just because Bill knew it would make him squirm.

Bill Clinton is the Democrat we needed after Reagan, to convince Americans that the economic Third Way was a viable alternative to allowing corporations to completely run free. His economic policies weren’t going to save the middle class, but they were achievable goals in that environment. Now, with the amount of damage that the neoconservatives have done to this country and its workers, more rapid solutions are required. We’ve been treading water since the 1980s, and Bill epitomizes the quiet Democratic version of the loud Republican “no new taxes!” rhetoric. It’s a legacy which can haunt former-Secretary Clinton by loose association.

Likewise, when Bill Clinton hijacks some of Sanders’ left-wing political slogans, it’s more obvious to the public. Bill is an unqualified genius, sure, but Hillary is more media-savvy and can keep up with the liberal zeitgeist in a way that is more subtle. Neither one of them was necessarily elegant in their attacks against Obama, in 2008, and Hillary does well to distance herself from Bill’s comments during that year. While there wasn’t as much social media then, their insinuations against Obama’s nationality (and no doubt his ubiquitous sexist Obamabros) were unrealistic—but many of those insinuations afforded votes for Clinton. Obama would ultimately lose the popular vote to Clinton that year, but pick up enough superdelegates to get the nomination. The voting public quickly forgot about Clinton’s attacks on Obama, and moved on to enjoy a Democratic White House. Bill threatens to bring those events back to mind, in his attacks on Sanders.

Moreover, in 2008, Clinton lost the same way that she intends to win this time around: On superdelegates. It’s a bit of DNC chicanery that the public often finds unsavory; Bill’s participation only increases the visibility of that dirtier aspect of inter-party politics. The less people connect this primary with the 2008 primary, the better Hillary Clinton’s chances will be at winning.

Now that the DNC has lifted Obama’s ban on lobbyists’ contributions, to allow lobbyists to help Democrats win primaries against one another, I can’t imagine Clinton losing too much ground. She’ll have a large amount of money pouring in for the purposes of defeating Sanders, now, in addition to the money she’ll need to fight back against the Koch Brothers’ enormous anti-Clinton spending until November. Clinton will benefit from having an amount of corporate backing to rival both Rubio and Cruz, but will also have the profound financial

When Obama won the primaries in 2008, his legacy was to insulate the Democratic party itself from the kind of bribery that plagues the general election. It was baby steps towards the ultimate goal of overturning the Citizens’ United decision and getting money out of politics altogether. But seeing that he couldn’t save the entire electoral process, he intended to at least save the Democratic party’s primaries from corruption. It’s possible that Clinton will reinstate the ban when she takes office, and go on to overturn the Citizens’ United decision.

Then again, what’s the point of a ban on lobbyists’ contributions if you repeal that ban every time there’s an election?

Obama didn’t win on superdelegates. It’s true that Hillary won slightly more of the popular vote. But it’s all about delegates and that’s irrelevant. Obama had about 100 more delegates than Clinton free and clear not counting superdelegates. It was closer than people remember it being but Obama won the delegates without the DNC stepping in. Superdelegates have never gone against the primary delegates.

And Hillary is more comfortable coming from the left because she’s always been left of Bill.

He’s such a compelling speaker - really think him touring out and about will mainly remind people of the folksy everyday charm that Hillary *doesn’t* have.

Kind of like how Britney Spears doesn’t ever want to be singing a song next to Christine Aguilera. Britney has her own charms, yet Aguilera’s otherwordly talent soars off the charts - (few could hold their own right next to it).

I thought that was odd. Bill Clinton can go pretty off message and his relationship with Obama is a lot more rocky than his wife’s. But she’s been praising Obama left and right this would be SO off-message.

The hilarious thing about all of this is that *Bill Clinton* loves his wife too much.

I usually think he’s a borderline sociopath but people are complicated. And I don’t doubt he genuinely adores his wife and has trouble with her being criticized in a way he doesn’t when it's him.

Boy, if there’s one thing I find attractive about the Clintons, it’s when they launch into paranoia about how everyone’s out to get them.

I think this is annoying me more than it normally would because I am currently in an “I’m more important than you” cycle with my partner in which they mean well but they do not execute correctly, because it’s more about the show of support than it is about being supportive.

Which is fine, we’re all human, unfortunately the stakes are MUCH higher for Hillary at this moment.
