      Sounds like people are getting upset at Russia’s success at stopping the ISIS smuggling of oil through Turkey

      Except for the fact that they are not. ISIS smuggling is through Eastern Turkey where Russia and Syrian forces are not active.

      To the extent smuggling has stopped it is owing to the U.S. supported Kurds and the fact the US destroyed most of the ISIS refineries.

      Russia’s interest in Syria has nothing to do with culling ISIS. Rather it wants to protect its Mediterranean naval base and possibly keep close ties with Iran and Hezbollah by helping Assad carve out a secure Western state for him and his allies (one that will probably absorb Lebanon before all is said and done).
