    So she knew “Just say no” was impossible but thought abstinence only would work?

    Also, I’m not surprised Molly Ringwald misremembered where she was. Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Challenger explosion I read a study by some psychologists who study memory who said that within two years the majority of students in a psych class misremembered fundamental things about where they had been when they learned about the Challenger explosion. Just two years later! Even more revealing, they on average believed they ranked 4.2 out of 5 in terms of how accurate they were. The professors said most were closer to 1 or 2 our of 5 in accuracy. I’ve wondered about that as well when I’ve seen people nostalgically discussing the OJ trials, talking about being in class when the car chase happened (um....during the summer? In the evening Pacific time?). Memory is less a perfect record of data that occurred, and more about how we create a grand narrative, collectively and individually.

      I think literally everything I remember from my childhood happened when I was around 9, because that’s how old I was when my parents split up. I can usually do a “was dad there?” test to see if I was older or younger.

      This same concept was brought up some people around the Brian Williams debacle. Unfortunately, people are very quick to assume others are lying as opposed to misremembering, since we all think we remember things as they were.

      Sorry did I mention the fact her son was born around 8 months after she eloped?

      Ugh, no. Booker prostituted himself out to so many interests as Newark Mayor (charter schools, Zuckerberg, etc.) He essentially acted as Bloomberg’s viceroy the entire time. The police department was just as bad, if not worse, with stop-and-frisk.

      On the other hand, Ras Baraka 2024 —that would be something man.
