    So Kanye has said about his fashion line “I was trying to play a sport that’s a billionaire sport. It’s not a millionaire sport and I’m proud of the debt.”
    I thought his was a vanity line, under a larger label. Why would he put so much of his own money into something the majority of his fans could not afford?

      Maybe because it’s not a vanity line to him. He seems to legitimately want to be considered a designer. Every new season is the same clothes, with whatever he learned in the past year added. In about 5 or so years, if he’s not broke, Kanye may actually present a fully actualized line, instead of this minimalist homeless chic he’s going.

    I feel bad that I have a little bit of credit card debt and I’m paying off my car loan. I could never imagine being over $50 million in debt. I feel better about my little debt.

      Same here.

      $53 million in debt is a lot. He must have not only been blowing his fortune on bad investments, but borrowing tons of money to try and plug the holes in the process. Maybe we’ll get an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians where he and Kim have to go through bankruptcy.

      I would think that Kanye may be able to make this up by a good solid touring schedule or two. Or maybe a do residency in NY or LA. Hell, retain the group he had last night on SNL, showcase them, and then just pop in to rap for 45 minutes a night.

      On the other hand, he probably doesn’t have the attention span to pull a commitment like that off.

      I think that’s probably true for anyone who is not terrible with money but you don’t get $53 million in debt without being fucking terrible at saving/paying off what you owe. I don’t think someone can accidentally get $53 million in debt because hard time/bad luck, ya know?
