      A dipshit friend of mine took a semester of Spanish in college because she was getting married in Spain right after graduation. The very last words I heard her say before she got on the airplane?

      “Yeah that one semester and my English/Spanish dictionary are all I really need. I don’t need a translator! I’ll have no issues getting a marriage license!”

      That’s what I’m thinking of right now.

      Well, to be fair, there are a hell of a lot of liberals that would vote for him over the other GOP candidates if we weren’t so busy voting in our own party’s primaries. The rest of the field should be fucking thankful that voters are not permitted to vote in multiple primaries...

      Also, just the fact that he runs a distinct platform, as opposed to “slightly different spin on xenophobic hatred and elitism” gives him a better chance than everyone else if he can actually reach the people who would believe in that message. I think there are way more people who would respond to a positive campaign if they knew it was out there, which the media is doing a wonderful job of obscuring. I met many, many Christians who would respond to true “compassionate conservatism” when I was amonst their circles.

      I’m sure when she was growing up in suburban Chicago in the 1950s and canvassing for Barry Goldwater in 1964 she had lots of opportunities to perfect her Spanish.
