    #1 rule of a conservative politician;

    NEVER, EVER, apologize.

    Conservatism is a cult. And cult leaders can't be apologizing, because they can never, ever be wrong, less the whole bullshit house of cards comes crumbling down.

    The truth of this story is that what was really covered up is that they were doing a canned hunt with an endangered animal.

    I can’t say where I know this from. But trust me, this is why the guy who got shot in the face was so compliant.

      I actually don’t know what kind of an animal it was. Just heard about it through someone who knows one of the people that was called in to clean up the real mess. And just saying that, is arguably saying too much because not that many were brought in to cover up that shameful and disgusting secret.

    Ten Years Ago, Dick Cheney Almost Killed A Man He Barely Knew

    That’s not really a big deal when juxtaposed to the hundreds of thousands of people he killed that he never had any intention of ever meeting.

    I don’t know what the problem or issue is. Whittington apologized 10 years ago for getting in the way of Cheney’s birdshot, didn’t he?

      Also the World trade centre should apologise for getting in the way of two jet airliners

    Jon Stewart’s take on this is still my favorite:

      Yes, the headline was Cheney’s Got a Gun and the summary was that he was the first sitting vice-president to shoot someone since Aaron Burr on the plains of Weehawken, NJ.

      I made him apologize.

    I believe it was Bush spokesperson Scott McClellan who thought he could be clever by wearing an orange tie at a press conference when he was questioned about the shooting.

      I had to look that up to confirm it actually happened. I'm sorry for having doubted both you and my own longstanding impression of the Cheney administration's depravity.

    If Harry Whittington didn’t want to get shot it the face by Dick Cheney, he shouldn’t have pulled off 9/11.

      “There was one person who did apologize, though: Harry Whittington...”

      That’s because Whittington was intelligent enough to understand that he was dealing with an extremely dangerous sociopath. You do not want to cross a man like Cheney.

        I’ve heard about ‘taking one for the team’, but this is a bit extreme. Sounds about right for the Bush administration.
