      I’m getting angrier and angrier watching this. Why oh why does this have to exist? This answers all of the comments I see when I read articles about rape by removing women from the equation to make sense to sexists and misogynists. Why is it so hard for them to understand that women are people?

      We still need videos like this yet, so many assholes stand up and say women are playing the gender card every time we speak up about injustices we have to endure.

    I’m glad to see the school is taking it seriously and not sweeping it under the rug but I’m not surprised. I was raped at a frat when I was a Cornell student back in 2008 and while it was obviously an awful and traumatic experience, the school did everything they could to help me. They worked with the local pd with me without pressuring me to take legal action if I wasn’t ready to. They helped me navigate getting extensions for classes because I was a mess. They had an advocate come with me to look at a lineup and they set me up with counseling right away. And most importantly, they listened to me and they believed me which is mostly what I needed at the time. Also I know this is going to sound bitchy but I am not surprised by the frat being Psi U....they were notoriously “affluenza” types that had their own private indoor squash courts inside their house, where I know at least one girl was the victim of an attempted assault. Generally we just knew not to be alone with guys there, which obviously is ridiculous that that was our operating policy but we were young and dumb and didn't want to make waves especially where it might lead to you being blacklisted by the cool frat. Ugh.

      I’m a grad student at Cornell, and while I’m not really aware or involved in undergrad life (and the rape culture that comes with it at so many schools) it’s heartening to hear that Cornell takes sexual assault very seriously.

      He’s been indicted. This is just the school’s remedy while he faces criminal prosecutions.

      Otoh, the bail requirements are messed up. Every state need’s to adopt the federal system’s no-cash bail system where they do a risk assessment, and only if they think you’re risky do they require someone to co-sign a bond.
