    I’m pretty conservative so try not to yell at me too much. Torture (including waterboarding) is completely ineffective. A tortured subject will say anything to not be tortured. Even if you disagree on the morality of torture, in practical terms, it’s useless.

      You’re assuming that the reason for advocating for torture is the belief that it works.

      As the CIA’s own internal reporting clearly shows, the reason you advocate for torture is because you’ve got people who really, really like being able to rip a goatherder’s asshole inside out. It’s the only concrete benefit you get.

      The fact that the intel they get from this is guaranteed to be garbage, and will likely kill people in the field, is a small price to pay to make sure Ms. Bikowsky’s sex life stays active, and some people back at home can feel some vicarious enjoyment from the knowledge we’re hurting people who can’t fight back.

      THIS. I was joking with my partner a couple weeks ago that if I got pregnant that night the baby would still be born before the 2016 elections, that’s how far away they are. Cut to last week: I find out I am pregnant, the baby is due several weeks before Clusterfuck 2016. It takes less time to make and bake a new human being than it does to elect a piece of shit. How does that make a lick of sense? We need European-style elections where campaigning begins like 50 days before folks go to the ballot.
