“Lots of people tell me a President should have eyebrows. Now, I don’t know if that’s necessarily true, but a lot of people tell me that, and if it is true then, well, that’s probably bad news for John Kasich. We’ll see.” -Donald Trump

There just so happens to be a candidate with yooge luxurious eyebrows, really the greatest, most on-fleek eyebrows in the history of the game

I don’t know anything about politics, but just based on the eyebrow-game, I think this guy - whomever he is - has it on lockdown.

I honestly thought he had a eyebrow ring on his right one the first time I glanced at the story picture. Had to make sure.

He was the most reasonable on the stage in every debate I watched except for Rand Paul on occasion. That’s not saying much given the GOP field but, good for karate chop man

He was running for the general at the Republican debate last night. He kept giving moderate answers. Funny because he’s nowhere near a moderate. See abortion and welfare.

Honestly? Don’t sleep on John Kasich. Keep watching how people vote in the primaries. He’s going to keep surging and he’s bland enough to actually be presidential. If he gets nominated he’s just the right mixture of vanilla and Republican that he might sweep right on into 1600 Pennsylvania.

If he gets nominated, GOP voters will dump his ass just like they did Mittens. They want a red-blooded sonofabitch, and John Kasich, despite being a hardcore, true-blue conservative, is a turnip in a boring suit.

    Grew up in NH.

Hard working, tough living blue collar Americans who have been voting against their self interest since forever.

    I didn’t see a black dude until I was 16.

Trump? Of course, for these people.

    Goddamit.

I got the fuck out in my 20s and try to avoid family visits.

Wasn’t John Kasich the conservative boogeyman during his tenure as governer of Ohio? My college roommate was from there so I remember hearing and reading a lot of terrible things about the guy.

During? He’s still governor. And, yes, he’s still very conservative. He just speaks with a bit less fire than the other clowns in the field.

He apparently kicked ass in his reelection and won the Liberal Bastion of Cleveland (some areas of Cleveland gave no votes, as in zero, to Romney in 2012, which is basically unheard of).

I think there might have been some abortion stuff that raised the left’s ire, but in general, I’ve heard he is a centrist for the most part who uses George W. Bush’s 2000 campaign rhetoric (compassionate conservatism, family values, cross racial appeal).

As a democrat I would be relieved to have Kasich be the GOP nominee. Not because it would increase the Democrats chances but because I would feel safe in the knowledge that none of those other fucking fruit cakes could win and destroy the USA. I’d be OK if Kasich won, the country would be OK.

I generally vote democratic. That being said, Kasich is the only person on the Republican side that I could see being a good president. He actually seems like a decent guy with good experience.

This is absurd and illustrates that his plan is working. Don’t be fooled, just because he’s not a clown like Trump or Cruz doesn’t mean that he isn’t terrible. He is.

With RubioBot having that terrible STOP error against Christie the other night Kasich may be their last real hope to not have a wacky brokered convention and a 3 way droog fest between Trump, Cruz and whoever else.

I originally thought that RubioBot would get paired with Kasich for the ticket...and that may still happen but it would be Kasich in the hot seat with RubioBot as the Veep.

You may be right and that’s a terrifying ticket to me because moderates might actually vote for that. Moderates will stay home if Trump or Cruz is the headliners. And once in office, that Kasich/Rubio pairing is not going to be any less horrible than Cruz or Trump. They might be marginally less offensive in their speeches, but their actions will still be scary.

I’m actually not terrified about them for their sake.

I’m terrified because Clinton is a terrible campaigner. Sanders sort of is as well, but for different reasons.

A dear friend of mine said it perfectly last night during a bit of small talk between SB festivities: “No real potential President has really emerged.”

None of these candidates have ‘it’.
