Ew. But it actually makes sense to me on some level and not as incest. Donald, as a yooge narcissist, would actually love nothing more than to have amazing, luxurious sex with himself. Ivanka is the closest he could come to that. So the thought crosses his mind.

Still, ew. As a father of daughters I could not imagine a scenario where I would even joke like that, in private or in public, and certainly not on freaking television.

ETA: Yes, yes he does want to have the sex with his daughter.

  Yes, thank you for writing this so simply and eloquently. I was just about to launch into the same explanation. It goes further in the sense that narcissists don’t see their children as individuals, but as extensions of themselves. And for Donald, women are sexual objects, pure and simple, so he cannot even see his daughter for anything beyond that.

  My Dad was so hung up on sex and displays of affection that he couldn’t even hug me, or any of his children. When I was older and would greet him with a kiss on the cheek he would always be embarrassed and mutter an apology for not having shaved. I can’t even imagine how it feels to be Ivanka Trump, but I guess he hugs her at least. Although, if you were her, would you want him too?

  I saw her on a local talk show. To my considerable surprise she was charming, personable, articulate and, indeed, gave every impression that she was at least a halfway decent human being. How she can stand to even be in the same room with her father I don’t know, but I guess she’s used to him.

Trump is one of those men who thinks he’s being clever and hilarious when he talks about sex in crude terms in front of women or brings it up at totally inappropriate moments. And he’s rich enough that most people in his social circle probably let him get away with it, “oh, that’s just Donald being Donald.”

That said, I can’t help but be reminded of that amazing Village Voice story about Bruce McMahan (another wealthy man) who actually married his biological daughter. McMahan sounds like another narcissist:

Linda testified he told her he believed they’d been married in a previous life. Earlier in the evening, she remembered, he had pointed out that her legs were a “very sexy version” of his own.
