    Ok, what are everyone’s hopes for the characters? Here are mine:

    -Christopher is dead because mY GOD if they try to break Luke and Lorelai up again with him I will KEEL SOMEONE IT’S OVER SHE CHOSE LUKE THE END!

    -Rory is single and drinks a bottle of wine alone every night in her tiny journalist-salary apartment because her entitled “all the boys love meeeee for some reason” bullshit stopped being cute once she hit thirty.

    -After an appropriate period as a grieving widow, Emily gets her groove back with a sexy older working-class-type gentleman who shows her a wild side Richard never could and she finally gets why Lorelai found Luke so appealing.

    -Lane and Zach are back with Hep Alien and they are touring and their kids are super cute, and Mrs. Kim comes along to babysit and provides comic relief as they get super famous.

    -Kirk is dead because he is so effing annoying.

    -Melissa McCarthy makes a SURPRISE re-appearance as Sookie and becomes the SURPRISE main character of the show and all the other characters bow in deference to HER.

    -Lauren Graham’s hair is still fabulous.

    This show makes me uncomfortable because the boys are soooooo doable and soooooo young. There. I said it. I always have to reassure myself we were the same age when they filmed it so it’s ok or something.

    Does no one else feel this weird anxiety about teenage Jared Padalecki and young Milo Ventimiglia? I should just bro up about it shouldn’t I? Just PervUP.

      Well I started watching it this past year because everyone on Jez was all about it. I thought I missed out. And then I watched it and I was like, “NO, PANTS, NO. There will be no pants feelings about teenage boys!...*googling* There will only be some pants feelings about boys who were my age then!” It’s a weird place to be.

      But honestly I can’t imagine there are any bros out there who would feel guilt or discomfort over this so I probably shouldn’t. Because bros set the standard... right?

      Right?!? Dammit. When the show was on and I was at my former former former company and sort of high up in middle management hell, I latched on to this show because Lauren reminded me of my mom at that age and, natch, I loved her. LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEDDD HEEERRRR. My employees found so much humor that I loved this “women’s show” and not, say, T.J. Hooker or something.. so what. It was fantastic! And our little Rory is all grown up now, too! Ah... can’t wait...

    The number of episodes has been announced. Four 90-minute episodes, one for each season. They’re already rebuilding the sets and filming is set to start in February, to my knowledge. Shush you, it’s gonna be great!

    We’ll also have to wait to find out where the reboot picks up and whether or not Rory has finally achieved a shred of emotional maturity after almost ten years.

    Truth.

    High school freshman Rory was way more mature and far less self absorbed than Yale graduate Rory.

      that’s what happens with a lot of us nerd girls. we think we know the real world because of the way we experience it through literature, until losing a loved one or getting our ass handed to us by a broken heart SHOWS us what’s what. then, adrift with no moral compass left, when no book from Garcia Marquez to the goddamned Bell Jar is seeming to fix it, you find a bottle of gin works just as well and people have been doing this for about 6 years longer than you have by this point.

    OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. I have been joking about Richard dying for several months now as I watch Gilmore Girls for the first time, because his credit always said “special appearance by” before his name! I WAS WAITING FOR HIM TO DIE. IT WAS MY JOKE WATCHING THE SHOW, WILL THIS BE THE EPISODE?

    Now I’m a little disappointed he never dies in the show.

    ETA: Extremely disappointed but not surprised by Sookie’s non-appearance.
