Hard to be snarky when something like this is going on, but “run, hide or fight” does not really help narrow the available choices for people in a crisis. Perhaps one recommendation would make things more orderly and less confusing.

Run, hide, fight, crochet...you know. Whatever feels right. You do you.

Run, Hide or Fight is the training. You do works best based on your situation within the building. If you can get out safely, get out. If you cannot get out safely, find a place to hide. If neither of those are an option, fight.

Good. Let’s have one every week, then maybe we’ll start doing something about it.

We have one nearly every two days. There is no number of these things that could spur action in this country.

Truthfully, these are only the ones we hear about. But the depressing fact is that a mass shooting happens almost every day in this country. I’m surprised it’s been this long since one has made national news :(

I can always tell when this is going on because my rightwing office neighbor tunes into the police scanners and imagines the number of ways he would storm in with this sniper riffle and save the day

What action should the sick/incapacitated patients take here? Can’t wait to hear Fox yelling that there need to be guns in hospitals.

I’m kinda surprised a military facility does not have armed gaurds.

I always wonder about the term “active” shooter. Is there such a thing as an “inactive” shooter?

I suppose when he’s lying in a pool of blood with his brains airing themselves, then we can call him an “inactive” shooter.

I’m going to go ahead and predict that this will turn out not to be an active shooter event. My guess — and I’m just basing this on a sixth sense I have about it; I do not have any facts to base this on — is that someone heard, oh, maybe three shots, but there will end up being no evidence that any shots were fired at all, no one will have been hurt or killed, and no suspect will need to be apprehended.

I could be wrong, but I’ll bet money that it will turn out very much like I’ve predicted above.

Pretty sure they mean "fight about the race, religion, nationality, political-leanings of the unidentified shooter(s)"...
