The winds of change are swift with this one. From her Wiki:

After voting for Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election, she soon afterwards turned to the Tea Party movement, where she became an activist. She actively supported Ted Cruz in the 2012 Senate race in Texas and appeared on stage with him on election night.

    [...]

In January 2015, Pierson attended a meeting for Tea Party activists in Myrtle Beach with Ted Cruz. While in Myrtle Beach, she also met with Trump. She met with Trump and/or his aides a few more times in the spring. At Trump’s campaign rally in Dallas in September, Pierson did the introduction. In November 2015, she was hired as the national spokesperson for Trump’s campaign.[4]

You know any black person/minority willing to take up the cause with Republicans (and the fucking TEA PARTY, good Lord) is pushed to the front of the damn line. Ben Carson, Katrina Pierson, Stacey Dash, ANYONE in the Log Cabin Republicans—someone is making it worth your while. There’s no way you look around a room full of people who have actively tried to take rights away from people like you, who have been consistently hateful in word and prejudiced in action, and will continue to do so, and think “Yes. This is where I belong.”

Unless they’re cutting you a BIG ass check, which makes you just awful enough to belong with them.

This woman is all sorts of awful, but I think I *might* buy that, as a mixed-race person, this tweet from 4 years ago may have been her shitty attempt at mocking the sort of shit mixed-race people hear all the fucking time. The more I look at that tweet, the more it looks like it is not meant to be taken seriously...

That’s how it sounds to me, too. It makes more sense as sarcasm.

But we could be overestimating her.

I’m sure she’s echoing things she’s had thrown at her but I don’t believe it was a joke. It’s too in line with real things she has said and meant.

Meanwhile, Sanders’ press secretary, Symone Sanders, is an actual activist, and she’s killing it. I saw her on Melissa Harris Perry’s show and I couldn’t believe she’s only 25.

Can Sanders seriously buy legitimacy as easily as the story makes it seem? He is booed off stage, he hires her, and everything is great?

What? Who the hell thinks simply hiring someone who is black would automatically resolve his issue with black voters? Sorry, but that’s ridiculously condescending toward black voters!

The key point here is not that she is black, but that she is fantastic. She’s the real deal, a ringer, and a real get for his campaign. I’m trying to find the clip from Harris-Perry’s show, because you’ll know what I mean when I you hear her.

ETA: here is the t.v. clip:

I’m an activist, and I am a half-breed, I’m always getting called a half-breed, and on Twitter, when you’re fighting with Twitter and even establishment, you go back at them in the same silliness they’re giving you. So I myself am a half-breed.

the Internalized Racism is strong with this one.

Also, we must be really lowering the qualifications for what counts as activism these days. Letting shit fall freely from your mouth should not an activist make.

Perhaps she thinks yelling “half-breed” on Twitter constitutes activism.

Yup. I’m sure in her world, she sent out that tweet and laid her head down to sleep for the night, thinking assuredly, “Good job Katrina. You are really helping to bring about social change in this world.”

Who did we think these people were? Trump and his supporters wear suits and always talk about money and success and shit, so we think that they’re somehow professional and know how to conduct themselves. They’re not. These are the people that start political arguments at the family dinner while passing the butter. They’re crazy.

For those who deny evolution, and instead imagine a few-thousand year old universe where man was molded from clay, walked with dinosaurs, and Jesus was white - I get their obsession with “purity”. A limited gene pool is a solid stategy for ensuring the stupidity necessary for the adoption of “creation theory”, let alone modern GOP politics.

It seems crazy to us, but obsessing about racial purity and the level of privilege that should come with it is a big pastime with Trump supporters.

She’s a damaged, self-hating little verbal diarrhea-ing rageball of lies. If her righteous anger/slapback was so directed at “Liberals” being so mean to her, then why the swipe at Obama’s opponent on the right—namely the GOP’s eventual standard bearer Mitt Romney?

            Nope.
