In all fairness to this fat fuck, given the choice, I’d never return to New Jersey either.

Right there with you! I leave and somehow liberal-ass Jersey gets an awfully incompetent Republican governor...wtf. If anything, hopefully this campaign has shown people just how bad for NJ he really was.

This is wrong. Christie realized that he couldn’t govern New Jersey and pretended to run for president to distract from the fact that he sucked at his job.

If he loses the primary (which he will) and comes home after 8+ months of completely abandoning his gubernatorial duties, he’ll only have a year and a half before NJ elections to redeem himself. Good luck, Christie. Something tells me Kim Guadagno will be running against you.

So, during Sandy, Christie says—stay the hell off the beaches—and is applauded as a straight-talking, no-nonsense guy.

Today, Di Blasio says—don’t drive anywhere this weekend—and is labeled a Fascist.

    WTF?

Just the usual disconnect from reality and reason with no sense of self-hypocrisy.

      You know, normal.

191 days? That’s sad. I spent 365 days entirely of out New Jersey last year.

In the meantime, lieutenant governor Kim Guadagno has assumed most, if not all, of his duties...

That’s a helluva lot of hoagies.

By staying out of New Jersey he’s just giving the people of New Jersey what they want.

while he is away campaigning his security detail is made up of nj state troopers and their salaries are being paid by nj taxpayers. it’s many millions of dollars at this point. it’s obvious he doesn’t give a shit about being a governor if he is never there. he cares as much about his home state that elected him governor as sarah palin does about her booze-addled suicidal son.

I know almost nothing about the state, but based on what I’ve learned on TV (and only TV), it does seem like a state constituency that would vote for a governor to spite him.

Nor is it the first time he’s watched his state get pummeled from afar—he famously rode out a 2010 storm from Disneyworld.

“SAVE YOURSELF! Women and children first leave the weak behind!”

(he’s been pretty good at that throughout his time in office)

When questioned on why he was not returning he said:

“NJ will already have a big pile of white stuff that will block the bridges. They don’t need me.”

Whatever he does, now that they’ve greatly upped the snow estimates, Christie has decided he does need to be back in Jersey. (Realistically, it’s probably easier for emergency personnel handling logistics to get his signoff on shit needed immediately if he’s not at a party in another state.)

I propose a law that prevents anyone who currently holds a high-level government position (such as mayor, governor, congressman, or senator) from running for another government job at the same time. Public servants should do the job they are being paid for, not spending their time trying to get a better government position at the public’s expense. Wait until your term of office has been completed; *then* run for another office...

Agreed. They talk big about being ready to make any sacrifice to be President... except, you know, quit their day job. They should have to step down. Also, if they step down with more than 3/4 of a term left, they should have to repay all salary for that term and all future benefits that may have accrued (pension/healthcare) so that that money can be used toward the cost of the special election needed to replace them.
