I am shocked that the vanity campaign of a completely unqualified candidate would be a magnet for grifters.

Really they should be ashamed of themselves for how they operate. They are preying on seniors and also advancing a harmful agenda that plays into their fears. It truly is shameful. I guarantee when confronted with these revelations, no one would believe it.

To be cynical, one can also argue that Ben Carson himself is equally a scam and that this campaign is nothing more than a way for him to charge more for his appearances on the conservative speaking circuit. Or, at least that is why he initially ran for President. I don’t know that he really ever expected to be a legitimate candidate. Of course, once he took off in the polls, I do think he bought into being a real candidate, for a while at least. So, as to why this guy resigned, I would say it is doubtful that it is because it would hurt Carson’s campaign and is more likely because this guy’s continued presence was somehow assumed to hurt Carson’s future ability to make money off of the same folks getting hit up by the direct mail scams (lots of overlap there, I would bet).

A campaign can only sustain one grifter.

Agree. the whole campaign looks like a racket from the top down. Most of these low-polling campaigns are rackets of course, but usually its just to get yourself leverage in the administration or party. This one seems like a racket designed just to enrich themselves.

But without campaign funds, who will buy all of Carson's books? He needs those campaign funds to get his book royalties.

I always thought the whole campaign was to sell books, but now I’m curious if this was some secondary scheme run by Carson or if it was Carson getting scammed by Parker.

That would not surprise me. Carson seems a little baffled by anything unrelated to neurosurgery.

That is pretty impressive, usually only Ponzi schemes and churches can execute this level of thievery.

Carson campaign staffers not qualified for their jobs; hard to believe, considering how smoothly things have been going.

You mean to tell me that a Presidential candidate and his staff who interrupted their campaign to do a BOOK TOUR to sell more of his books may be grifting their supporters?

It makes a lot more sense to think of Carson as the figurehead (unwitting or not) for a bizarre ponzi scheme - than as a legitimate candidate, or even a medical professional for that matter.
