I am shocked at your restraint in not reprinting the picture from the linked NY Post article.

IS THAT LITTLE ASSHOLE SMILING??!

They seriously could not look more sinister if they tried. I was all ready to go in on the Dad (who is obviously a problem also if only for the fact that he was fall-down fucking drunk) but this picture has my blood absolutely BOILING. I hope they sort this mess out and most importantly get that girl all the professional help in the world.

All that said, I don’t think you can rule out the possibility that it was consensual. Stranger things have happened.

Now I feel somewhat bad for getting mad at the bodega clerk for not calling 911. The father’s role in this is seriously WTF. From the NY Post article:

“Surveillance video from the store shows the victim’s father walking inside before he begins to chat with two men. He does not appear to be frantic or in distress.
After walking out of the store, the dad drunkenly ran past a marked police car before eventually circling back and alerting the cops to his daughter’s attack — 20 minutes after the alleged rape first began to unfold, sources said.”

I’m also paying attention to the “recently re-reconnected” section of the article, and i’m thinking I know why he wasn’t a part of her life before. Though admittedly, that is an assumption i’m making.

Hmmmm ... Sounds like maybe there was a good reason for not involving this guy in his daughter’s life?

Per that person, two of the teens say the father and daughter were having sex in the park when the group walked up on them.

Two of the teens being two guys who are accused of participating in a gang rape?

Seems legit.

This story made no sense from the beginning, but anyone that correctly pointed that out yesterday was quickly shouted down as ‘part of the problem.’

So, let’s be clear: it’s incredibly likely this woman was raped (and even sounds like she might not have been sober enough to consent, anyway), but the story about the Father made zero sense from the beginning, and anyone rationally following the story could see that.
