Yeah, unless they have cleaned house of the guards and made a bunch of other changes that seems ... less than ideal.

I'm figuring Josh Brolin blew his cover? That's who I'd cast.

Sean Penn jumped at the chance when Guzman offered a lifetime supply of free coke for whomever played him.

Are you referring to when he interviewed him?

I just came across this article from today:

Sean Penn Sat for Secret Interview With ‘El Chapo,’ Mexican Drug Lord

Before anyone gets all triumphalist, read this: https://www.propublica.org/article/devils…

As Chapo’s alleged fixation on becoming the next Escobar hints at, Chapo wasn’t the first drug baron. His capture will certainly not make him the last.

When you look at the carnage that happens because of fights for control of the drug supply of the U.S. —the Colombian cartel wars, the Mexican cartel wars, etc.— what is so apparent is that the U.S. establishment puts so much emphasis on disrupting suppliers, it never bothers thinking about how it became such a heavy consumer of drugs in spite (or maybe because) of a draconian prohibition regime.

Case in point, the whole reason for the Chapo manhunt taking on these legendary proportions was Donald Trump making such a big stink about it. But who’s going to ask the very simple question of whether Donald Trump is doing his part in the drug war and staying stone cold sober. I mean, surely Donald Trump would never snort cocaine off a European model’s tits, right? What about all the fights at his casinos: surely, there’s no record of Tijuana clinics supplying PEDs to the innumerable boxers or wrestlers who have done passed through them. Right?

“...El Chapo was taken back to the same maximum security prison in Altiplano that he escaped from last year through a mile-long underground tunnel.”

Cool, they took him back in through the very tunnel he escaped in! I know that isn’t what it really says, but that is how I read it this early Saturday morning.

If I were the warden, that’s how I’d bring him back in. And any time he served would be spent filling his tunnel back in.

If I were the warden, I’d take the money el Chapo gives me to let him escape and buy a boat.
