Its not an abuse of power if a 20 + year old woman willingly has sexual relations with a married man in power

    No one was raped.

    Who carez..

As if Clinton is the first cheating president..

It’s not rape, but the serious power imbalance does raise legitimate questions about his judgment.

Not, to be clear, Hillary’s judgment. She is her own person and should be allowed to define the terms of her marriage without a public comment period.

Sure, he’s lacked judgement in satisfying his sexual appetite. But as far as we can tell, based on numerous investigations and untold millions spent, none of it was illegal. And from his record as president, that poor judgement only impacted his job performance when his opponents made an issue of it.

And none of the above has fuck all to do with his wife’s qualifications to be president.

The mental gymnastics liberals have to do to convince themselves that Bill Clinton is not at the very least a serick sexual harasser is comical.

He was a decent president and is most notable for not screwing up the Internet revolution that came on his watch. Which is great, because a lot of presidents would have done their best to fuck that up. Neither bill, nor any other politician, deserves credit for that.

But...he absolutely abuses his power to take advantage of women. And he has done so for a long time. His behaviour is not at all acceptable by any standard.

There is a slight difference between someone whose sexually harassing behavior is unacceptable and a rapist.

I agree with you - he was totally a sexual harasser. The power imbalance is a really murky situation with Monica Lewinsky, in particular. And I’m one of these dirty dirty liberals! Luckily I know the difference between Hillary and Bill and so Bill’s crimes don’t affect my vote (like the Breitbarters are intending). Since, you know, he’s not running..

While we’re generalizing, wondering how these conservatives (you too, perhaps?) so concerned with the well-being of women are planning on supporting women in other ways. Allocating funding to local police forces for testing rape kits? Supporting stricter sentencing measures for sexual assailants? Requiring the teaching consent to boys and young men via sexual education? Access to free and affordable birth control, and reproductive freedom? Supporting equal pay laws for women, and strict laws about sexual harassment in the workplace? If Bill Clinton is the common enemy to get conservatives to be feminists, I’ll take it. As a woman, I’ve got a lot at stake here. Something tells me that’s not actually how this is going to play out.

I’d be inclined to think the commenters were genuine if they were this defensive of all rape victims, and not just when there are partisan gains to be made.

See also: blaming mental illness for all gun problems. Do those people actually want to help the mentally ill? Nope.

Then how genuine is someone like Hillary Clinton or large chunks of her allies who say “victims should be believed”, well, just not when it makes the party/candidate look bad. Then those victims are some lying, conniving, moneygrubbers.

Ms. Broaddrick’s allegations are certainly disturbing (to say the least). But given some of the other evidence that tends to disprove her story - that there is no record of her staying at the hotel in Little Rock and no other documentary evidence of the encounter - there is some reason to not wholeheartedly accept her allegations as true.

All I can say is that, given the three decades in which this rape allegation has been used unsuccessfully as a political football against the Clintons, coupled with the fact that an FBI investigation that was part of the Starr Commission into the allegations turned up no conclusive proof, I have difficulty believing her on the basis of her allegation alone.

Agree, this is pretty simple. One person with a grudge makes a serious allegation, but is dismissed because there is no documentary evidence and there is no consistent pattern of behavior.

I literally don’t understand Broaddrick’s claim that Hillary tried to silence her. How? Did HC actually tell her to keep her mouth shut? Was there a horse’s head left in someone’s bed? The only thing I can find of Broaddrick saying anything about HC previously is that HC once shook her hand and said thanks for supporting her husband.

I have the feeling that Broaddrick has become so entrenched in her narrative that she’s gone down the rabbit hole.

Regardless of what kind of low life right-wing propaganda is pushed around, 8 years ago we didn’t vote Hillary in as a president and I wonder what has changed in 8 years that would make you even think of considering giving your vote to her. Today she’s attacking Bernie on guns. Eight years ago she attacked Barack Obama on guns.

My respect goes to a socialist guy Bernard who never ran negative TV ad in his life.

Hold on. Discussing an opponent’s voting record on an issue of national importance is not the same as an attack. Nor is in necessarily negative. What it is is a legitimate way to draw distinctions in positions.

You act as though Bernie didn't vote or take stands against gun control bills. The record is very clear that he did.

It’s just sexism - Hillary asserts a position in some way and it’s an “attack.” She’s unfairly ATTACKING the menz! What about their rights! Their Constitutional rights to say whatever they want without women arguing are being infringed!

I got the same! Without context it’s hard. The anti0rape activists are talking about rape in these conversations, the Breitbarters are talking about hating Hillary Clinton.

This was pretty simple. The activists talk about the victims (using the pronoun ‘her’) and the commenters talk about ‘him’ or other external factors. Activists care about the women.
