Similarly, I used to hate olives as a kid. Now I can’t get enough of them!

Christie used to be in support of preventing terror suspects on the no-fly list from getting guns, and also for increased funding for mental health. Funny how he “evolves” away from the exact same ideas when they come from the president.

He also used to like Obama when NJ needed federal funding post Hurricane Sandy. Funding that Christie then withheld from NJ cities with Democratic mayors who refused to endorse his re-election campaign.

When was that politically expedient? That seems to be the only reason he says/does anything.

Jesus Christ. Is this a real photo? Chris Christie out here wearing his socks like the Duke Brothers at the end of “Trading Places”.

I have absolutely no problem with a candidate changing their minds on an issue. That said, I am very interested to hear his reasoning for his original position, and what information caused him to reconsider that position.

If the reason is “because my voting base wouldn’t support me otherwise”, then that probably isn’t an actual change of opinion.

I Agree 100%. Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds. But one should be able to articulate what has caused a person to change their mind. “I’m pandering to different people now” gets points for self-awareness, but loses my respect and vote. (To be clear, Christie never had my vote, but were it to come from someone I might vote for I would consider changing my vote. And if I did, I would explain why very clearly.)

      I clicked the links.

“I learned the difference, and I learned what the limitations are of these laws that people are talking about and how they much, much more greatly infringe on law-abiding citizens than they do anything to prevent crime,” Christie said. “Having learned that, my position’s changed.”

      Perfectly clear and err.. logical.

Who could not be moved by two dozen corpses of first graders in a nearby state to, uh, violently oppose any form of gun control?

I love it when moderate Conservatives have to dumb themselves down when they decide to run for higher office in order to not alienate their low-information base.

Trust me, that exit isn’t too far off the highway for most of these guys, if you know what I’m saying; which I think you do.

I’m calling them stupid, in case you couldn’t tell.

I don’t think Christie’s a genius, but I don’t think he’s stupid per se, either. He doesn’t believe the shit that comes out of his mouth, he’s just a spineless, pandering, desperate jackass... which is worse.

The PRNJ is renowned for banning anything that may be a wee bit fun. Like drinking on the beach. Not that any silly open container law stops me.

I was in Massachusetts a couple of years ago for the BFs family reunion, and we decided to go to a nearby campground to stay the night rather than driving all the way home, which is when I found out their campgrounds are DRY! What in the holy-f*ck were they thinking? What the hell else are you supposed to do while camping? You eat, drink, and tend the fire. Dice, cards, or pong may also be included. Perhaps fishing if you’re feeling motivated. You know what goes well with dice, cards, pong, and fishing? DRINKING!

I think they want their campgrounds to be shut down due to lack of campers.

Listen, Sean, when I was 32, I used to want to be in New Jersey and to work at governing that state. I’ve changed my mind.

Which is why I spent only 6 months last year in the state that I am supposed to be Governor of.

If you think anything Obama has done is getting rid of the 2nd Amendment you’re an idiot. All it says is that you should have the right to own them. Doesn’t mean it has to be easy to get you hands on the actual weapon.

You could make the rule that you have to let Trump fuck your wife or daughter before getting a gun licence. Gun deaths would practically stop overnight.
