I regret it every day too Joe. As a Democratic leaning voter, I’m not a Hillary fan and I don’t thing Bernie is electable. Also, selfishly, I would have LOVED to see a Biden / Trump debate.

Sanders would win in a landslide against Trump, according to head-to-head polls. He’s more electable than Hillary, assuming Trump gets the nomination.

Encouraging but I don’t think Bernie even beats Hillary. I lost a lot of respect for Hillary in the 2008 campaign for 2 primary reasons:

      1) She didn’t strongly dismiss the birtherism garbage . “Obama is a US citizen as far as I know.” Not “period” but “as far as I know.”

      2) She refused to get out of the race as late as May 2008 because, “Robert Kennedy was leading in June and didn’t ultimately get nominated”. Yeah Hillary, because he got assassinated. Hoping for that? I was pissed about that one.

All that being said, I would drink her pee before voting for Trump.

Which three Republican candidates did he talk to?

I mean I’m here scratching my head wondering which three I’d label “least crazy.”

Biden presumably knows all the Senators. I’d bet on Graham, Paul, and Rubio. Cruz could technically qualify, but I’m not so sure anyone willingly talks to him.

I would include former candidates. Lindsey Graham for sure. They’re good friends. Maybe Rubio? He’s a pretty reasonable guy. Definitely not Cruz, Carson, or Fiorina.

I feel like the death of his son just kind of broke him. He hasn’t been the same since. I feel terrible for him. He’s had a surprisingly tragic life and I think his son’s death was the final straw. I don’t blame him in the least, I think he made the right choice for him and his family.

I wish he would’ve jumped in, too, to split the establishment vote. Bernie is doing pretty fucking awesome despite, but it would’ve made it easier.

I really like Bernie and plan on voting for him in the primary.

That said, I would have LOVED if Biden would have ran. I think he would have mopped the floor with Hillary and would have made a great candidate if Bernie didn’t get the nom.

People would’ve at least been more excited about Biden than Hillary. He definitely would’ve won the “I’d like to have a beer with them” vote.

Apparently he did not have anything to say about Martin O’Malley.

That’s because there’s not much to say about him.

I have a friend who is convinced O’Malley is still in it because he wants to lock down a VP spot. I cannot think of a less inspiring choice for VP, and I think staying in actually hurts his chances because he’s becoming a punch line. Nobody wants the bottom of the ticket to be the guy who stuck around too long at the party.

Now that I think about it, Clinton/Biden or Sanders/Biden would be good, though. What say you Joe? Up for another round?

An honest question to Americans: why do you guys like Joe Biden so much? Dude is hardly a progressive and, like Hillary, he voted for the Iraq war and has Wall Street backing.

He’s weathered several major personal tragedies and come out the other end cooler and happier than most of us could ever hope to be. You feel like he deserves it. He commuted from Delaware on the train for like 30 years in the Senate and went home every night to take care of his kids. He’s sort of uncommonly real for a politician.

He does have a few really shitty positions (especially “drug war” stuff), but most people don’t even know that. Republicans and Fox News - when they talk about him - just call him a doofus or pretend like he’s Obama’s Che. Democrats just think he’s one of ours, I guess.

“I promise you, I’ve spoken to three of the presidential potential nominees on the Republican side who tell me, ‘Joe, it’s crazy,’” he said. “It’s absolutely crazy.”

Only Joe would say something like this. Only Joe regrets not putting himself through political hell. lol He lurves the crazy, bless his heart. Like, if these conversations happened (and whenever Joe says “I promise you/I’m not lying” he’s not telling the truth. lol) a normal person would be counting their blessings. Joe’s disappointed that he’s not a part of the crazy.

I fuckin’ love this man...but only from a distance. Living with this kind of drama king would be taxing to say the very least.

Biden did the right thing not running. If his little comments about Hillary Clinton were any indication of how he’d be “on the stump” he would have done more damage than good—to the race and his reputation.

There’s nothing to regret, Joe; you wouldn’t have won.

You’ve done your duty to your country man; be a Grandfather and be content with your life.

Biden’s demolition of Paul Ryan in the 2012 VP debate will always be one of my favourite moments as a pseudo-American.
