I know you’re being sarcastic, but it burns me up knowing he’ll just end up in some other podunk police department in a few months like an archdiocese rotating a pedophile priest.

I bet you if the DOJ reviewed every single police report for perjury, there wouldn’t be a single employed cop left in America. Cops commit perjury every day of every week, and they even have a word for it: “Testi-lie”.

Those in the legal community in south Florida dub it “testi-phony.”

In Michigan it’s referred to as “testi-lying.”

And in the police union’s eyes, too.

And in the department’s eyes, too.

They feel bad about being forced to do this just because “some dumb bitch killed herself.” It’s not ~theeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiir~ ~faaaaaaaauuuuuuuult~.

The system is broken and this isn’t going to fix it. He’s still a tragic hero to his comrades. Poor, misunderstood hero, attacked by civilians who ~can’t~ ~understand~ what liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike.

      Aaaaaaaaaawwwwwww.

I can’t wait for his whiny, crying, FB/GoFundMe posting asking for money as well as “socks, snacks, cold weather clothing, and anything else you think I’ll need.”

I have to say, I am glad to see that at least a handful of police officers are starting to finally get some disciplinary action. Of course it’s only after relenting media coverage, public outcry and political pressure, but at least we are finally starting to see the breakdown of that Thin Blue Line. I hope this sets some precedents and police departments see this as the wake-up call it needs to be.

This is happening not just because of the media coverage, but because citizens are banding together and making it happen. We must keep at it and hold all public officials and officers accountable for their actions. His police department is just as guilty as he. He was not properly trained. His primary purpose was not to prevent crime but to produce revenue for his municipality. This is why the municipality will end up settling with the family.

He should have been charged with at least some sort of culpability in her death. If he hadn’t lied about her actions the matter would have been settled with a traffic ticket. As long as those in law enforcement continue to aid the criminals in their ranks they will be responsible for the problem.

There are six fucking commas in the opening sentence of this story. Brendan O’Connor doesn’t even know remedial grammar. I mean... seriously? Can anyone call themselves a writer these days? Does Gawker have requirements when it comes to working for them? This is so fucking shameful. I honestly don’t know who’s worse, Gawker or fucking Yahoo. Go back to 8th grade Brendan.

I watch allot of the police show (CSI, Law and Order, etc) and something that I started thinking about more and more about is that the shows always seem to make the FBI and Internal Affairs into the bad guys on these shows. Then it dawned on me that these are the two groups that go after bad cops.

Are these shows trying to make us also see FBI and IA as bad guys when it comes to them dealing with police even though their job is to stop bad cops?
