Genuinely more interested in the mom facing prison time, at this point.

Although it is a classic “why can’t we have both” situation, granted.

Agreed. And then, lock him up and take their money and give to those families of the 4 people he killed.

There is such a good SVU episode just waiting to be written about her particular, fucked-up pathology.

I’m still trying to figure out why this idiot ran. A single probation violation is unlikely to result in jail time, typically you get a warning, then community service on your second offense or a brief stay in jail (like a week, tops) and it isn’t until your third offense that serious consequences arrive. And you can fight this all over again too! It’s a court proceeding, and if you have the money to flee to a beach resort in Mexico, you have the money to hire a half decent lawyer to maybe get you out of the probationary penalty completely!

I genuinely think he and his mother are just that stupid. I also think they are convinced that everyone is out to get him so the judge may penalize him more harshly. Even if the judge did that we are talking three months behind bars, at most. Far better than life on the run.

Even poor people don’t usually get their probation revoked for first violations (unless they are big ones)!!!

Eh, I think it’s fair to assume he would have done some time for his violation. It’s up to the judge’s discretion with violations, and from what I understand, the original judge has since retired (how convenient, but whatevs). To receive probation for a 4 count vehicular manslaughter was lenient as fuck to begin with, so I highly doubt a new judge would have also just let the little shit walk a 2nd time.

...they want to drag this thing out, Hunter said.

Yes, by all means, let them quite literally drag this thing out. Leave it in the woods. Tethered. For days. Then drag it back in. And lock it up.

Who says “Hey, lets waste money so we can stay in a Mexican jail longer”? The world has gone mad.

I hope he drags it out until April. Have at it, dipshit. Then when you get deported anyway, all the paperwork will be in line for you to fuck off forever. The prosecutor is already pissed off, imagine how steamed she’s gonna be after 4 months of waiting to fry this asshole, just in time for his little boy card to run out.

I’m a little concerned he’ll just escape through a hole in the jail shower floor. I mean, hey, it’s been known to happen in their maximum security prisons. They still haven't found El Chapo, right? Then again, maybe it’s a lot harder to escape from a local jail in Mexico, who knows?

I don’t think anyone in the prison is going to fear repercussions from crouch’s skate park gang if they refuse to aid him in his escape so I don’t think an escape tunnel is in the cards

Incarceration is a difficult and traumatic experience. Theses suggestions are offered to help prisoners adjust to the realities of life in a Mexican prison. Prisoners should try to: •learn the written and unwritten rules of the prison and understand the psychology of the guards and inmates. •learn Spanish to reduce unnecessary problems. •make friends with compatible prisoners to reduce the sense of isolation and create a support network. •if jobs are available try to obtain one to stay busy and possibly reduce your sentence. •guard your health: eat the most balanced diet you can, especially fruit and vegetables. •exercise when you can and stay vigilant in dealing with health problems.

From “A Guide for U.S. Citizens Arrested in Mexico” from usconsulate.gov.

Prison in any country is all about not being a punk and having outside support to send you money. As long as he is willing to get into a fist fight he will be fine.

Is that timeless wisdom available in Spanish?

PS Might be some wisdom in downing fruits and vegetables in Mexico - if you want to have explosive diarrhea so heinous that not even your mom (or his) will want to hug you.

Is he in a Mexican prison? Please let him be in a Mexican prison.

Then again, if bribes can get el Chapo out, he’ll probably be “breaking out” in no time.

Look at the implication of him wanting to spend more time in a Mexican prison rather than an American one. It says that our prison system is way worse than Mexico’s now. Thank on that for a while, let the implication sink in. We’re the third world now.

I have to wonder: are these people from the particularly-out-of-touch segment of the wealthy population, such that they believed all the old blues and country songs, movies and the like about there being no (halfway-effective) law enforcement in Mexico?

I can just see them crossing the border in their BMW or whatever, and immediately blaring out “Hey Joe” on the car CD player.

A considerable portion of people in all economic classes are just really fucking parochial. It’s not just small town people and it’s not just Mexico. The equivalent sort of person who lives in a major metro area thinks everyone in a flyover state is a drooling hick, and the counterpart who lives in a small town thinks that anyone who goes to New York City is going to be instantly mugged and then get hooked on heroin.

Roger that. Some of the most broad-minded, and simply wise, people I’ve known virtually never left the area where and I they grew up: just chose to apply their intelligence (not always above average, by conventional measures) to whatever they experienced, read and so on.

Illiteracy, of course, is a major barrier, but otherwise, if this choice correlates with any socioeconomic measure (income, education level, etc.), I’ve never figured out what it might be.

This kid is pretty fucking dumb if he WANTS to spend time in a Mexican jail.

He’s gonna cup the huevos, Stroke the chimichangas, and then swallow the cojita.

Or ya think he’ll end up in rich Mexican jail?

I just Mexican't believe he thought he'd get away with this :/
