    I lived in Louisiana during one of Duke’s campaigns for governor. I have the dubious honor of somehow restraining myself from spitting in his face when he approached me in front of a Mardi Gras parade.

    It’s worth noting that Duke’s political stance has always been “no-I’m-not-in-the-KKK *wink wink nudge nudge*”. He says things in public that actively distance himself from being an out and out hood-wearing racist (which, duh, he literally is). He’s probably flabbergasted that Trump can get away with saying the things he does, let alone thriving on it.

      Well the trump’s have never admitted to having a personal relationship with the Kkk either even though Donald’s father Fred was arrested during a 1927 kkk brawl with police http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first… ( police reports of a Fred trump with matching age and address to Frederic Christ trump tend to confirm the arrest took place)

      His father was also later sued by the department of Justice following a sting operation for systemically refusing to rent to minority tenants.

      I think it’s probably more of a case of fewer people understanding the full scope of Donald’s family history especially as it pertains to racism and white supremacy.

      Most people have viewed trump for decades as this sort of caricaturish real estate mogul who vamped On television like a life sized version of the monopoly man— how many know about the belief systems with which he was raised.
