Saying this is going to cause me to commit to dismissing gray anti-climate change zealots for the rest of the day, but doesn’t this weather just SEEM OFF? It feels like something is very, very wrong. I understand about the larger than usual El Nino we have this year, but there’s no reason it should be 70 degrees on Christmas on the East Coast or why it should be flooding in England. Our local weather man has started to call this “the year without a winter”. Flowers are starting to bloom here yet Texas is bisected by violent tornadoes and freak blizzards. What the hell is going on?

Nothing to see here. Move along. Just a figment of your imagination. Do not adjust your TV.

I’m currently driving through that damn blizzard near Lubbock (well my husband is), saw photos of heavy snow in El Paso of all places, and it was SO hot in Austin yesterday. What is this?!

I blame these floods on Gawker firing Dennis Mersereau.

And in eastern NM, it has been snowing for 26 straight hours. We have two feet of snow.

    I miss Dennis.

I’m sorry friend, what a bummer. I hear the weather is supposed to be changing in the east and midwest - not sure where you are? Maybe you’ll have some snow soon.

Apparently in one trailer park in Sunnyvale, a suburb of Dallas, reports are 40+ are dead because 30 trailers caught on fire. My brother-in-law’s parents sent over this photo of theirs

My god this is awful. Could fire and rescue not get there because of the storms?

It often only takes minutes for a trailer to be fully engulfed. My husband and son are firefighters. Trailers burn hot and fast. Even with an exceptional response time, they are hard to save. In a trailer park where they are close together, heat from one home can easily and quickly ignite the other homes.

    (1) I think we’re finally at that point now when we have to ask the GOP to decide, once and for all, if they’re going to go with God’s wrath or just simply accept climate change. & (2) That lead photo has got to be the best advertisement for Dr. Pepper that I have ever seen.

I think they do believe in climate change but they just don’t want to do anything about it because of the impact on certain industries.

They believe in climate change as much as they believed cigarettes cause lung cancer, or, for that matter, that football destroys brains.

Heading back home to CO right now and was shocked at how cold Crested Butte is. I know this El Niño is expected to pummel southern CO and northern NM all winter with snow, and that it’s always very cold around New Years in your area, but it's just crazy this year.
