    Putin has publically consorted with notable Russian bikers . “The high council of Russian bikers unanimously voted him into a Hells Angels rank. His nickname is “Abaddon,” a Hebrew word that roughly translates to The Destroyer”—this means that if Putin was an American citizen he would literally be a ranking member of a domestic terrorist organization.

      I honestly think that it doesn’t matter what he says because the one thing he said that has really struck a chord was the fact that Moslems should not be allowed in unvetted. His other comments just drew his followers out of the woodwork. Although it seems the economy has turned the corner there are still people whose lives were seriously upended and may not recover from 2008 because of age, education bills, loss of property and pensions. Todays news of 10,000 empty passports stolen from passport offices by isis and have been found in possession in Europe is just another log on the fire after San Bernadino and Paris. He is promoting fear and once people have reached a certain level of fear it takes a lot of talking to get them down from the ledge.

      his economy is in ruins courtesy of US allies opening up the oil valves and not letting go, he has been tricked into sinking money and weaponry he does not have into a quagmire in the middle east, and we’re quietly passing weapons to the people fighting him in exactly the same way we did to bring down the USSR’s Afghanistan adventure. people are freezing to death on the streets of Moscow because they cannot afford to pay for heat. across Russia, infrastructure is dying. and vodka cannot dull the pain forever.

      The best part is, Putin knows Obama is to blame. but getting people to rally around “I’m pretty sure this guy got his allies to call in some favors to destroy our economy, and then forced me into a situation where I had no choice but to commit my military to a giant clusterfuck or else loose my last client state in the Middle East” is a tall fucking order.

      Vladimir Putin is a happy man if he makes it out of this decade without getting assassinated by his own people. If he still has any power at the end of it, he will be ecstatic.

      If you look at Vladimir Putin right now, you are looking at a man who knows he’s a dead man walking unless someone decides to throw him a lifeline, and that the number of people willing to do that is real damn slim.

    This is a pretty good indication of what American has to look forward to if Trump somehow got elected: it doesn’t matter how egregious the offenses, how terrible the dictator, Trump would be putty in their hands so long as the foreign leader in question was willing to stroke his ego.       I don’t know. Trump has a pretty good record of doing what Trump wants. He’s also really good at saying vague things that make people think he’s saying what they want to hear. I keep thinking of a story I read about him recently (possibly by one of the Jezebel commenters? possibly on BCO?) where he got a server a better job because he didn’t like the way she did her job at a restaurant he went to frequently. He didn’t want to see her again, so he didn’t. Her benefit was inconsequential to him. If he cared about America at all, he could be a good politician. I just don’t think he cares enough to do a good job, although if he was elected he might view America as an extension of his giant ego.
