“But he makes a decision, and he executes it, quickly. Then everybody reacts. That’s what you call a leader.”

And the reason that he wins in a way is that he’s the only one who knows what he thinks. He’s utterly clear. He’s clear, he wants to increase Russian power.”

I feel like maybe they don’t know the difference between the word “leader” and the word “dictator.” I feel like journalists should know the difference.

It should also be clarified that the “it” he executes, quickly, in the first quote refers to any journalist or political opponent who gets too uppity.

What’s so weird about this Putin obsession on the right is that its so explicitly a glorification of doing something for its own sake over the substance of what you do. Their point boils down to basically, as long as you talk tough and act decisively, the content of your decisions is utterly irrelevant. Its a really strange argument for them to make, especially given how well that type of act first, think later shit worked for W.

I find it so cute how the Republicans and their mindless base like to use both sides of this in complaining about Obama. Whenever he follows protocol and isn’t able to get anything to pass due to the Republicans blocking it, he’s sitting on his ass like a pansy while Putin takes action!

When Obama “takes action” they call him Emporer Obama and say he's a dictator and a tyrant that needs to be impeached. It's adorable

You’ve probably seen it but this Key and Peele sketch hilariously captures the corner Republicans have painted themselves into when it comes to rejecting everything Obama does or says.

I’m always amused that Republicans can call Obama a dictator who urinates on the Constitution one day then slob all over Vlad’s knob the next. If Obama acted even the slightest bit like Putin they’d be decrying tyranny and urging (other) people to take up arms.

That’s because that would be actual Tyranny. We all know that the GOP doesn’t understand the meaning of words.

What looks like “increasing Russian power” is actually “desperately clutching at relevancy”.

Here’s a leader who is basically capo de tutti capi of Russia who never met a mini-quagmire he didn’t step into. His only move at this point seems to be invading places to distract the Russians from oil prices dropping like a stone and the kleptocracy in charge.

It is not surprising that, along with Trump, media pundit types and shouty Republicans admire him, seeing as these people are all morons.

Not mainstream enough for you? Here was Rudy Giuliani just last year: “But he makes a decision, and he executes it, quickly. Then everybody reacts. That’s what you call a leader.”

Executes being the most obvious word here in the most chilling way. Go home Rudy, nobody cares about your stupid opinions.

I think it’s funny how Conservatives accuse Progressives of being Communist for supporting Socialist values, meanwhile they long for Fascism like what is being exhibited by a state that is the singular reason why Communism was demonized in the first place - all because free market Capitalism is actually forcing them to acknowledge people with different values have equivalent rights. It’s like a big fucking circle jerk of ignorance.

It is so bizarre. I saw this floating around a couple weeks back:

And it’s like, that one of Putin is a fucking glamour shot. Why would you want a president that takes pictures with a gun? Why is that a good thing? Putin is the poster boy for oppressive state stuff! How are these good ‘ol boys collecting shirtless pictures of Putin to roll around on while they fantasize about freedom and guns not complete jokes??
