    I would love for the city government of NYC to get as involved in regulating the housing industry as other countries are. There’s no real reason why the city can’t affordably house all its residents — just a lack of willingness to challenge the moneyed interests that have created a false “free market.”

      The only truly feasible method would be to tax the crap out of residential property that isn’t a primary residence. A lot of Russian and British billionaires own apartments that are rarely occupied.
