    Day 324:

    Oh, where oh where has this been? Where oh where have your daily Bloodlesscoup updates been?

    Things got substantially more crazy in the last week than I could have expected. A death of a colleague (not someone I was super close to, but had worked with here and there and knew fairly well over some years), my cousin was diagnosed with cancer (again, not someone I was super close to, but still), and various other microtragedies.

    I’ve had a renewed motivation to start thinking about living healthier and prolonging my life, so that’s a positive (?).

    Mostly I'm just tired and I missed you.

      I missed you too, and I hope things start looking up for you as we enter 2016. Sometimes these odd number years are pretty shitty, but not always. I had a housefire in 2013, so I am glad this year didn’t bring quite as much drama. It was not great though.

    I’m still a little bit shaken by the knowledge that Kristin is dealing with the loss of her brother just last week, and I’m glad I took a little respite from the 500DoK pages. Since she’s from the MHC, I figure that it might offer an update on how it’s rolling out here. It is pretty sunny today, in the mid-40s. We had a few inches of snow on Saturday, but most of it is gone by now. The roads are dry, at any rate. It will snow a bit tomorrow, we expect, but only a few inches, and it will be colder. I still have quite the substantial woodpile, a generous supply of my favourite ice melt, and am not bothered by the prospect of snow in the least.

    I have begun to research good recipes for french bread, as I now have the replacement paddle for my bread machine. I also have a stand mixer, and this gives me options for handling more challenging types of dough. I need to give this tooling decision more sleep, and so I will probably end up doing a few loaves of honey wheat in the meantime. I have decided to stay home over the holidays, and in a few hours and four days I will be on break for the rest of the year. The hours creep by like molasses on a cold day. I have selected Fallout4 as my diversion for the coming weeks, though I have to fit a new/improved drywall patch in the kitchen and declutter the top of the buffet. It seems so have collected a ragtag assortment of cables and audio gear during the summer moths and the deck needs to be swept clean, so to speak.

    I have secured opening day tickets to SW:TFA, in an all-new theater... one of those with the recliners. I am, in the words of the Aristotelian sages, “totally stoked”.

      Not to make a habit of commenting on my own drivel, but it occurred to me that I would enjoy my update twice as much if it were read in the voice of Morgan Freeman, with some kind of old-tymey civil war era background music. Mr. Freeman, can you do the needful?

      I had to get through Fallout 4 so that I can now focus more fully on Star Wars. But I just finished it last night. My children have grown so much while I was gone. I am hopeful that they remember me when I pick them up from daycare today. My wife was kind enough to occasionally slide dinner under the door to, uhh, Daddy’s office. I regret nothing.

      Also, my wife has given me permission to go see SW:TFA by myself so I’m stoked to go see it in 3D.
