    Related, if indirectly. This just reminded me that I don’t know the answer to this: if I were pulled over, how do I indicate to the officer pulling me over that I am waiting until we get to an area where I feel safe?

    I live in a rural area and at times will be more than twenty minutes from the nearest well-lit visible space. I know that legally there is a way to do it, but how does one demonstrate that they are waiting until they get somewhere more visible and that they are not, in fact, fleeing the scene?

      I am MRA. I think he should be sentenced on all counts, consecutively.

      I had been reading the voices of the women here (and in all the previous reports on this evil); feeling the pain and anguish.

      Then I stumbled on this post of yours.

      No MRA is claiming this is misandry.

      Of course the PD is glad this guy is going away, because he’s a criminal. Having a predator in your midst, when trying to protect people from animals like this, is a specifically awful feeling. I’m glad that OKC made a statement like this.

    There was a report yesterday of a State Trooper in my area of Alabama raping a woman in the same kind of situation. He found pill bottles and an empty nasal spray bottle in her back seat and handcuffed her after a car accident. My fiance had an “aha” moment and looked at me with real fear, saying “That describes your car. That could have been you.”

    Whenever I see a movie or TV show with a villain who ends up shocked or upset that someone opposes them, like “what did I do to deserve this?”, I’m always left thinking, “How can they justify being frustrated that someone opposes their evil plans? How can they write a character like that.”

    Then there’s this guy. Good luck spending your time in prison wondering why in the world people would be so upset about your raping.

    From my brief time covering court proceedings I can tell you right now that in his mind, he did nothing wrong. All the victims wanted it and are lying, in his mind. He can’t believe the jury “fell for it.” All monsters feel pity, but only for themselves.

      I imagine it’s even simpler than that - in his mind, it doesn’t matter what the victims wanted. As far as he’s concerned, he’s a cop and they were black women, and therefore he was entitled to do anything he wanted to do with them. By his definition, he can’t be a rapist because these sexual “encounters” simply cannot be rape.

      I doubt he thinks all the victims wanted it and are lying. I bet you anything his though process goes like this: Each individual time he assaulted one of those women he was doing something wrong. But not that wrong. Not bad-guy level wrong. Because how much suffering could one little encounter with his penis cause a woman whose life had already gone so wrong that she was working the streets, or using drugs? And now, not only is he being treated like a proper rapist, a bad-guy who jumps out of the bushes and overpowers a nice woman whose virtue is still in tact, he’s being prosecuted for every single indiscretion, separately. He’s like an embezzler who gets caught after taking just a few dollars a day from their employer over the course of many years. It was only ever a few dollars. A life sentence is wildly out of proportion to his crime.
