Ok. Can we all be done with this for now? We’re all feeding in to exactly what he wants here. We were able to forget about Paris Hilton, let’s forget about Trump.

Seriously. Just posted something like this but I’m perpetually in the grays :(

I mean, I know every blog/site/news station wants those ratings, but goddamn—at some point you have to step back and see that you’re part of the problem. I think only 2 or 3 of all the articles on Gawker’s home page don’t talk about Trump in some form or another. Time to pack this shit up.

I have a theory: He’s not actually running for president. I may have offered a bit of this before, but I’ll take it a step further.

Yes yes, we can all glean he’s doing this Media Stumpspeech Fuckwit Tour mostly for the benefit of Donald Trump ... BUT ... I believe it’s more of a long con for whoever the Republican nominee will eventually be.

Those other leading morons (Rubio, Cruz, Carson) are all polling closer to Hillary Clinton than ‘The Donald’. My theory is that he is ramping up the crazy for the moment when he decides to drop out of the race; and when he does, the three other wingnuts will, by proximity, look that much more ‘moderate’ and ‘electable’ in the general election. They’ll end up being harder for the Democratic nominee (presumably Clinton) to fend off.

(Even looking at stills from Trump’s speeches, he doesn’t really have much art/graphics saying ‘Trump 2016’. It’s all just DonaldTrump.com or the lame-ass ‘Make America Great Again’ banners.)

I’ve never bought he’ll seek the nomination; but now I’m thinking he’s pulling his daily stunts for the benefit of the other leading Repub candidates.

It's still entirely possible he's a Clinton troll sent to burn the competition down from inside. But like all monsters, he's become self aware.

This theory has been floated around before — only to benefit Hillary which actually makes more logical sense (she’s the candidate he probably knows the best). Secondly, if it is a ‘long con’, then I wouldn’t really say it’s working, would you? The crazies are galvanized and they’ll just move to the second-most crazy candidate when/if Trump leaves.

If even the Daily Mail is making the comparison, it might be time to go ahead and embrace it, Donald.

This comparison doesn’t work because, while The Donald extols the virtues of fascism, he himself is not principled enough to be a fascist.

They probably meant it in a nice way - The Daily Mail was a huge fan of Hitler, hated the arrival of Jewish refugees, supported Oswald Mosley (our own low rent little demagogue).

Right up to the outbreak of war, the Mail was giving Hitler opportunities for a softball interviews during which he bitched how he was being unjustly treated and how much your head would spin when you see his tremendous plan for the Trump Danzig Corridor.

It really answers the question of why these turds are failing to call him out effectively; they’re not used to deferring to reality either.

This man has ruined his career, or at least narrowed it to such a degree he’ll never be in mainstream television or courting mainstream endorsements any more.

Hey, asshole, was it worth it?

I don’t believe for a second he’ll be president, but when you live in a selective reality bubble like he does, I’m sure it’s easy for him to convince himself that he’s going to win. Remember the Romney fans who honestly were shocked when he lost? That kind of denial is real, and powerful.

So to answer your question (even though I’m not the particular asshole you were addressing), yes, I’m sure at this point he thinks it’s all worth it. Everything is going according to plan.

“Why aren’t we allowing the Christians in? We only allow the Muslims in. Why aren’t we allowing the Christians in?”

How the fuck would he know whether that was true or not? In point of fact, it’s largely Syrian Muslims who are being targeted by Islamic State, not Christians.

“That’s not true. That’s just not true. Does it matter to you that it’s not true?” Chris Cuomo asks.

Not at all, given the fact that pretty much everything coming out of his piehole has been exaggerated or a flat-out fucking lie.

“It is largely true,” Trump replies.

      There ya go.
