Bullshit. There is no consensus for gun control. There is no popular support for gun control. There is no mass movement for gun control.

There is only Mike Bloomberg and his billion$ financing the paid gun control movement. Everytown for Gun Safety. Mayors Against Illegal Guns. Moms Demand Action. All of them staffed by paid shills on Bloomberg’s payroll.

Really? So, please give us your ideas then? Every single time an IDIOT MORON conservative comes aboard after a mass shooting, they all say the same damn things: NO GUN CONTROL. MORE GUNS. *folds hands up and pouts*

I agree that there is no “magic wand” that will fix all of this, but at least the left is TRYING. The Right? Just folds up, pouts, and cries: “DON’T TOUCH MY GUNS. There’s NOTHING WRONG!” Really? 2 MASS shootings in LESS THAN ONE WEEK. Nothing wrong? Please.

Ok, then speak up. What are some ideas then? Because honestly, MORE guns is insanity.

We’ll all wait with your brilliance.

You're right. There's certainly no money behind the pro-gun movement. Only anti gun.

    Some ideas

-Citizens do not need assault rifles

-Online gun sales and gun shows sales should not exist

-You must go to a physical location to purchase a gun from a licensed gun seller

    -Background checks are required

-You need a license to have and carry a gun...if you need a license to drive a car, you need a license to own a gun

Those pushing for gun control could use some education in the current laws. You cannot just buy a gun online and bypass a background check. The gun is shipped to a licensed dealer who then performs a background check upon picking it up just as if you bought it from that store.

      These sources beg to differ

40% of gun owners asked said they never got a background check

    The United States of America

A country where you have easy access to guns nearly from birth.

Bans you from drinking before 21 because of how dangerous alcohol is.

Or buying allergy medicine without it being registered.

Buying fertilizer in large amounts without proving your purpose

Getting a life saving medical procedure when pregnant without, well depending on where you are, having death chose for you instead

Buying spray paint under 18, and you still have to ask permission

So to be clear, you are against people being killed with guns, but very much okay with them being killed by doctors?

eliminating some large categories of weapons and ammunition.

We could put them on a ranch or a preserve, where they could continue to run free and secure our liberty/stand ground/fear for their lives without dangerous human interference.

I don’t know. My dog’s at one of those places, the ones with the upsidedown rainbow hammocks filled with dreams? I don’t think adding guns to that mix is a good idea.

Since Republicans believe the New York Times is part of the “liberal media conspiracy”, the editorial is meaningless. As an issue, gun control has never gotten a Democratic candidate elected in a Republican held district.

In order for mass murder violence to affect an election, the event has to take place a few weeks before an actual election. Otherwise, left leaning citizens forget the trauma of these terrorist events.

The gun control issue can only be won when liberals completely embrace the concept of getting all Republicans out of office. To make that happen, they have to show up to vote without fail. In all State legislative elections. In all gubernatorial elections, and in all national office elections. Even in off years when the presidency isn’t up for election.

Republicans are elected by low voter turnout. That’s why Republicans own the House and Senate. And it’s proof that liberals like to comment a lot, like to post a lot on social media, but when it comes to voting...there has to be a candidate that excites them or they’ll just be too busy to show up at the polls.

What are people in heavily Republican districts where the Rs often run unopposed supposed to do? You can only do so much voting when the Dems spend jack shit in super Red states and districts.

I'd say it's more gerrymandering than voter turnout. Once their in all they have to do is draw their district around the people that voted for them to guarantee the next win.

    What? That’s crazy talk!

How can people hunt if they can’t pump dozens if not hundreds of bullets into unsuspecting animals at a rate inconceivable to the founding fathers?

It’s not really America if you can’t turn a buck into fine red mist and ground meat with just your gun.

What do you expect them to use? A hunting rifle capable of one or two shots before they have to reload? That almost sounds sporting!

My ambien prescription has 10x more safeguards in place than guns and ammunition. Why is this so hard?

I went to a gun range in Texas last week to shoot for the first time ever. Gave my license, bought a shit ton of ammo and shot an ar-15, and two .45s. No safety lecture, no questions, nada. My 10 year old nephew (and his dad) was with and did the same, sans license check. There are more warnings and restrictions to ride the Pirates of the Carribean ride. This is just one anecdote, but holy shit I was surprised how lax the whole thing was.

A serious suggestion: People with an affinity for these types of guns can buy them, but they must be kept at all times at the gun range. Ditto the ammo. When you're done having fun shooting it, it goes into a locker till the next time. That's where they belong.

I was thinking about something similar, where someone would be able to own those types of guns, but would have to go to a gun range to buy ammo and shoot.

Give the ranges some incentive to bring the prices of ammo down to a price that is competitive with prices that people can find in other places. That way, people can’t complain that it is unfair that the ammo is marked up at the range.

Seems like whenever Pres. Obama or Hillary talk about their gun proposals, they clearly state they don’t want to take away the guns and their proposals would just have more background checks and disqualify more potentially dangerous people from legally owning guns.

Have either Obama or Clinton proposed a measure that would have prevented these two terrorists from killing 14 people in California?

Most of the proposals I see out of the Democratic party would do next to nothing to reduce the amount of guns in circulation, they would only make is slightly more difficult to get a gun.
