    I recently went to see a standup show where Trevor Noah was a surprise performer. His whole set was a joke about Oscar Pistorius and the punch line was that his fiancée had annoyed him so badly when he woke her up in the middle of he night that he shot her.

      I think the big difference is the involvement of law enforcement, the leaked pictures of Rihanna’s beat-up face, and the fact that both parties admitted and have spoken openly about the incident. And, sadly, it seems people care a lot more because the victim in this case is a huge star.

      It’s my understanding that the other men you listed have not admitted to assaulting women. Or have they? Were they arrested for their crimes?

      There are plenty of his older tweets that are really horrible. Sexist, fat shaming, deplorable tweets. I refuse to watch the daily show because of it.

      I get that everyone tweets a few stupid things, but dude, go thru your tweets and maybe delete the bad ones.

      I think that is honestly a real possibility. I don’t think he ever turns down a gig....EVER. Like I’m pretty sure that he could be replaced with anyone, he’s just genuinely not funny nor entertaining, so he takes whatever comes his way.

    I wonder if this isn’t maybe a de facto admission on the part of the Daily Show staff that they don’t really have much confidence in Noah as an interviewer just yet. Stewart had all sorts of deeply objectionable people on but it made for compelling TV because he was pretty good about going after them.

      I think you're totally right. Noah has been doing ok with the scripted bits of the show but he flails in the interviews - even the super easy ones, asking odd and awkward questions. Anyone could tell he's not up to delivering the smart, incisive interview needed in these circumstances.

      As of right now, Noah is definitely not good at the interview thing. (Which is okay! Plenty of late night talk show hosts start out as terrible interviewers, and Jimmy Fallon still isn’t any good at it.) While I would have loved to see Noah and Brown have an adult talk about a very serious issue, I don’t know if I would have the confidence in either the interviewer or the interviewee to do it.

      Then you’re listening to the wrong people. I mean those tweets aren’t right but I’ve more time for someone who actively tries to recruit women and minorities, than those who just say the right thing but don’t do anything about it.

      There’s a documentary on Nexflix called You Laugh But It’s True. It’s about Trevor doing his first one man show in South Africa. I think your opinion will change.

    Good but I wish this kind of action was for all who abuse their spouse. I think Brown is easy to dislike but there are so many times the media and public look the other way when stars/athletes etc are violent.

      As what the example of what not to do? The NFL has kept DV under wraps until they couldn’t. NFL is not an organization I would look to for how to handle DV.
