I don’t think Cruz has any shot at winning, but on top of being utterly dispicable, he terrifies me because I think knows better, is geniunely intelligent, but is simply willing to play this role as he knows it’s the way to gain power in this current Republican party. He gives me the willies.

    FUCKING TED CRUZ.

This is the perfect example of right wing media.

This asshat prolly registered as a woman in protest. He wasn't handing out Pro-SCOTUS pamphlets to people he just met...

More like he’s making fun of the left-wing media for painting this guy as the product of right-wing rhetoric... He basically just said even if the guy was a transgendered left-wing activist as has been reported, he wouldn’t go blaming it on liberal rhetoric because the guy’s obviously a murdering scumbag, not an activist.

Oh really? Have you heard right wing media? Have you heard Ted Cruz’s rhetoric on this subject?

If I was a national voice and started spreading the rumor that republicans put women who aborted fetus’ in gas chambers, and people believed it, and started acting violently towards republicans, would I be at all responsible?

Is Bin Laden at all responsible for 9/11? He didn’t commit the act. He just inspired it. Right?

Hold up. Far be it from me to defend any conservative to you perfectly reasonable liberals hanging out here, but come on.

As an answer to the way the question was framed to put him on the defensive, there was nothing out of bounds or speculative about his answer. It has been reported (without official corroboration AFAIK) that the loon said “No more baby parts”. It has also been reported that he was a lefty who registered as a woman on his voter registration.

Personally, I think the fact that he shot a bunch of people tells us all we need to know bout his character. I don't give two shits if he was wearing a Che t-shirt and pantyhose or if he was dry humping a copy of Mein Kampf.

A Che Guevara shirt and copy of Mein Kampf would have made for an incongruous combination.

Describe if you don’t mind how ‘it has been reported’ that he was a lefty. Some blog? That is not reporting. That is speculating by, if you mean Hoft at Gateway Pundit, one of the dumbest fucking humans alive who can still put a noun before a verb.

How is that I’m watching Pee-Wee’s Playhouse and it’s not the most bizarre, surreal thing I’ve seen today?

How does registering as an independent and having an error on the gender box in one of your forms make one a leftist transgender activist. What?

Trump may get all the press but Cruz is the fascist leader the GOP dreams of. Unfortunately for them, he isn’t a natural born American and is unqualified to be President. We should just go ahead and dare the Republicans to nominate the fucker.

His mom was a US citizen who met all the statutory conditions at the time to pass on citizenship to her children. He’s as (constitutionally) eligible to be President as Barack Obama or John McCain.

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, which last I looked was a U.S. State. Cruz was born in Calgary, Canada. He is not a “natural born” citizen. And neither is old man McCain, who was born in Panama.

Nice. Some clerical error on a single court document and Ted Cruz gets to demonize transgendered people. Nice work all around.

I also love how being a registered independent makes him a leftist. The GOP is so off the rails that anything to the left of Pat Robertson or Ayn Rand is now a raging leftist.

How typical of conservatism. Just make things up when the facts don’t support you!

Wtf? You know what the problem with America is? It’s FUCKING LOW INFORMATION VOTERS, they’re the only ones who believe this shit!

And here’s where my crisis begins.

These low information voters refuse to be better informed. Am I an asshole if I discourage these people from voting? Surely, there is something ethically wrong with this.

      Well, that’s the issue.

These people are “low information” only in the sense that they harbor rather little in the way of “facts” about what we call “observable reality.”

The conservative movement has relentlessly propagandized these people for a half-century, at this point they are so invested in their alternate reality there is really no going back.

Add to this (1) the fact that conservative policy as implemented in the real world, via the Bush II Admin., was a massive failure and, (2), the fact that, to conservatives, the old saying of “conservatism cannot be wrong, it can only be wronged” is absolute gospel and you have the recipe for a massive nervous breakdown.

So, no, I think encouraging these people not to vote is probably a good thing. I mean, as it is the GOP, a party whose “real” constituency is the economic elite, has a voting base the consistently, and enthusiastically, votes against their own class interests. If we can avoid this, it would be a good thing.

I mean, it’s pretty obvious that we’d be a better country if we could prevent the white working class from continuing to vote against their own interests.
