Who would’ve guessed that Glenn Beck would issue a statement like this, and do it before any of the presidential candidates from a particular party? Though, if anyone makes the argument that Planned Parenthood ‘murders children’, the proper response is, ‘no, they don’t murder children at all.’

Also, worth noting, at this point even Planned Parenthood’s statements allow that they don’t know this attacker’s motives. He could be a dumb drunk, or just a nut with a gun who pulled into that shopping center and took cover in the PP office when he realized their windows were bullet-proof. It was just a couple of weeks ago another killer went on a gun rampage through Colorado Springs, and there’s no evidence that he simply hated bicyclists. I’m not a big believer in coincidences, so it seems most likely that this murderer was targeting PP. But who knows? Even the goof with the gun may not know what provoked him at this point. Based on his mugshots, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he simply felt like exercising his second amendment right to kill people with a firearm.

My favorite part about pro-lifers is that they are also usually anti-social welfare.

They make sure you have the kid, but are more than willing to watch it starve to death.

They want you to go crawling to a church for your handouts so they know exactly who you are and what you need and so you can be berated for your moral failings. Can’t live in total shame and humiliation if you’re not being told you’re a hellbound sinner all the time!

I don’t believe him. I think we should round up all the White men who own guns and start tracking them.....just to be sure.

We don’t know the exact motive of this guy, so I can only say that an attack on Planned Parenthood is the expected and in many ways understandable result of the out of control, false and terrifying claims made on a regular basis about what occurs in PP clinics. People are regularly told that PP kills babies born alive, pressures women (and as the allegations go underage girls) to get abortions so that they can make money off of fetal tissue, performs late term abortions when there is no medical or mental health justification, etc.

If these things were true, I would be protesting Planned Parenthood. Should we just say, well, those things aren’t true and no one should believe such things? No. When elected officials, people in positions of authority, and supposed neutral observers are the ones asserting these things as facts, I do not think it is unreasonable for regular citizens to believe that these things are actually true. And, I can understand why these “facts” would motivate a person to extreme action.

I am not saying that this man, if this is his motivation, bears no responsibility for his actions, nor am I excusing them or him. But, I do think that responsibility lies with people beyond this man and, to some degree, moreso with those other people.

Conservatives have been dying to disconnect this man’s motives from Planned Parenthood so desperately, because they know they have created a culture of violence and untruth, and are afraid of what they might have indirectly caused.

I used to work for a member of Congress and it is that experience that really exposed me to the degree of blatant lies that people are receiving. What I learned is that a lot of it is quite sophisticated- on their face plausible interpretations of legislation that require a degree of knowledge in reading the legislation to know that actually that is not at all what the leg would do to actual fake “legislation” being circulated with “Warning! Congress about to approve xx”. I remember one guy who was extremely upset and he kept saying that this bill would require him to replace his roof (it was in relation to an energy bill). When I told him that wasn’t true, he emailed me the provision and- yikes!, that is exactly what it said. I was so taken aback, but luckily I pulled up the legislation through Thomas.gov and discovered that the “advocacy” group that had sent him the supposed legislation had actually doctored it to insert this fake section. It wasn’t a misreading of the bill, they added a section that didn’t exist to a real bill. To most people, it would look absolutely like a real piece of legislation.

Anyway, I don’t think many liberal people recognize the extent to which conservative media is straight up lying, but worse, making up lies that are incredibly extreme in content. Honestly, I ended up feeling a lot of sympathy for many of the people who contacted our office (even though they thought I was the devil!) because they were being told genuinely terrifying things and being given “evidence” that, frankly, was not always easy to immediately disprove.

Hey, stupid. They tried to shoot the fucker. PP has bullet proof glass. And, unlike Michael Brown, he didn’t charge the cops. Unlike Laquan, he didn’t try and run away. He surrendered.

Still not totally clear this was about Planned Parenthood directly. According to one witness, he shot someone in the parking lot and then followed him into the PP building. Will be interesting to know who that first victim was and what, if any, connection the two men had.

Maybe he was there to confront a wife/girlfriend/daughter who was getting an abortion? Maybe PP was the target and the guy in the parking lot confronted him about the weapon and that’s why he shot him before entering the building?

Stick to things you know... which doesn’t appear to be much. News is now reporting that this nut had NO religious or political affiliations. Was even marked as “female” on his voter regis. This guy is also reported as having an arrest record for being violent—and for RANDOM reasons. What we have here is a grade “A” nut, not a person with a political agenda. So, do some research you brainless dolt.
