    I am 3 hours away from Thanksgiving at the in-laws. It’s not the worst event since my sil won’t be there hanks to a well-times DUI but I am not exactly looking forward to it mostly because I have to put on pants, a pants-free Thanksgiving is my dream.

    Hooo-ey, it was a brisk morning! Started with sweet potato prep, went to hauling the turkey out of brine and getting it seasoned and -=buttered=-, then it was on to stuffing, and there’s only green bean casserole to go. Mom left to get more -=butter=-, and some cheap beer (for me). I can’t drink anything very heavy or complex on kitchen days like this... its Lite beer all the way ... great, er, taste, refreshing wateriness, less filling! All the dogs seem to be doing very well at staying out from underfoot. Watching the dog show right now. Nice to see the newfoundland make best in group. Will need to start basting the turkey soon (& get the thermometer in). Mom loves to tell me to do stuff and then micro-manage it. “I wouldn’t have done it that way.” she says. “We’re late getting the turkey in, you know?” she said, at 10:15 . (We serve at 4:00! [rolls eyes].) I’m just trying to let it all go. Stick to my dishes, keep everything clean, wash as I go. I _will_ get through it, as long as I have more -=butter=-.

    *sigh*
