      Erin was the first person who truly helped me understand how much an editor can bring out the best in a writer. She guided me and pushed me to do some of my best pieces (including the beautiful dichotomy of my Ferguson posts and my Rachel Dolezal coverage).

      Also, she knows a lot about a lot and always has a fun sometimes depressing story about farm life.

      Also, I like her and think she’s great. Er, you, I guess this is directed at you, Erin.

        I remember you, Erin Ryan, when you were just a wee little sproglet with a funny upside-down avatar and a way with words that no other Jezebel commenter could match. I remember you. I watched you grow and grow, and felt so much tender pride in your talent and shit-talking that you’d think they were my own fucking accomplishments. Thank you for all the words. Especially these ones, which made me sob at such a honking volume that my kindly neighbour actually called to ask if I was ok and if I wanted him to text my mum.

        I remember you, Morning Gloria. I won’t forget you.
