I’m just not sure how exactly Edwards is a democrat. Edwards is a West Point graduate who supports gun rights and opposes abortion rights. And he also thanks god as often as possible. I guess we can just call ourselves whatever we want now and words have no meaning.

I’m an octopus barber, I’m bright pink, and I support putting all clowns, bedbugs, and bits of gristle on a raft and shoving it out into the sea, then burning anything that tries to swim to shore.

I’m pleasantly shocked. Edwards is no liberal and has some fucked up ideas on education care of his wife. But he’s not Vitter or Jindal and probably won’t waste time on divisive social issues that get the rubes all riled up.

He said his first order of business is accepting Medicare expansion to give over 200,000 people health care, so at least there’s that.

Since he’s not stepping down from his Senate seat right away, that could mean spending more time with sex workers or his Senate colleagues.

I’m no political analyst, but I do hope that Democrats take note that Edwards just straight up came down off the top rope in those ads he ran against Vitter.

Yup. Why the Democrats keep sticking to the high road when it’s proven that voters like a scrappy fighter is mind-boggling. And it’s not like Dems don’t have much to work with. Gore and Kerry could have pounded Bush on his cocaine use and missing National Guard service records, but didn’t. Mark Sanford wins even after his Applachian trail shenanigans. Romney straight up killed someone speeding in a car and served as an official in a church that banned blacks from clergy.. But Dems barely talked about it unless someone else brought it up. Meanwhile, we heard ad nauseoum about Obama pot-smoking and birth certificate and Rev. Wright. Kerry’s peace activism is turned into a scandal. An Gore runs away from the Clinton record because Clinton had consensual sex with an intern.

As a native Louisianian, I am proud that my state might be able to show Dems how to use the low road effectively. Politics ain't beanbag, after all.

Vitter looked permanently ashen after those commercials hit. He really didn’t see them coming and had no idea how to react. Lessons are to be learned here.

I assume Vitter will want to get back into the arena. When does a senate seat open? Jindal’s run as the Great Not-White Hope seems over. There seem to be so many candidates who have run mostly out of vanity (Rand Paul, Trump) or for the wingnut welfare (Carson, I would guess), Pyush doesn’t seem to stand a chance for the kind of payouts and book tours that the other guys will get?

I was guessing that Kasich thinks of himself as the James Garfield of this race, except Garfield was a decorated soldier and not obviously a tool of Wall Street. I have suspected that he and Jindal, among others really have been running for VP or cabinet secretary with the idea they could deliver delegates at the Convention or votes in the general. At this point Pyush seems unlikely as a choice for either.

That was the ultimate act of desperation. What exactly does the Paris attacks and Syrian refugee situations have to do with the state of the economy, higher education and medical funding? Oh and fcuk Piyush Jindal with a rake sideways.

The French Quarter was livelier than usual after locals realized he won. Anything is better than Jindal or a Jindal follower. I have watched this state plummet while the Conservatives kept voting for Jindal and Vitter.

The author of this blog post obviously knows nothing about this race, because no one in their right mind would have labeled Vitter the “front-runner”. He has been down 10+ points and dogged by a prostitution scandal for the past month. I know all that information might ruin the narrative the author is trying to push “Little-Known Democrats Defeats Anti-Abortion Republican Frontrunner”.

You really shouldn’t try to school people when you’re an idiot yourself. Vitter held an 18 point lead until the beginning of October and clearly was considered the front-runner, being the much higher profile politician. Vitter’s prostitution scandal was seven years ago, and he was able to get re-elected to the Senate after it happened, so the fact that it did become a liability in this race, all these years later, is noteworthy. And both candidates are anti-abortion, but, again, the fact that the Democrat who won goes against the normal D partyline is worth mentioning.

Go back to Breitbart. Don’t go into journalism.

Agreed. Once the Lt. Governor endorsed Edwards, he became the frontrunner. It’s been easy to see the panic of Vitter and his people. Also Edwards is anti-choice.
