    I hate photos where people are spilling shit on themselves. I am militant about table manners, so sloppiness while eating or drinking raises my hackles. Also, bashing the (innocuous) thing that made you famous is an asshole move.

      It’s a good article. Though I understand why Phelps is the biggest household name of professional swimmers, I wish there was more buzz around Katie Ledecky. She’s shaping up to be the most dominant distance swimmer ever, and she’s only 18.

      I know absolutely nothing about swimming, so I will be on the lookout for Ledecky! RE the article: I just found his coach’s honesty pretty damn refreshing. It’s hard to say whether Phelps was as honest, I think only time will tell.

      I agree with you, but this way she has a far better chance of winning. Despite the fact that we know Josh Duggar is a sexual predator with a string of offenses, she is a woman, a sexworker, she didn’t report it the first time, she met with him again, and she didn’t report it the second time. It’s wrong and it’s fucked up that a child molester/rapist/abuser has a better shot with a jury than the survivor, but she at least stands a chance by filing a civil case. In a perfect world her actions will bring more of his victims out and they can all take him down.

      I hope she squeezes every penny out of him and his enabling parents.

      I’d like to think that, but I doubt it. My aunt is going through something similar right now. Her husband is cheating on her, gambling, opening up credit cards and spent his entire 401K. He did this 15 years ago and spent both of their 401Ks, all of their savings, and she forgave him and they moved past it. Now he’s starting up again, and while she has our support, his family is gaslighting her and trying to get her to stay with him because she stuck by him last time and she’s completely lost. And she isn’t even in some fucky cult like the Duggars.

      Anna has her brother actively pushing to divorce him—her parents are very conservative but hopefully this kind of thing will keep her from being pushed to go back to him. She has 2 siblings who have left home who don’t subscribe to the fundie stuff who are both supporting her—I hope for her sake and that of her kids that she makes a new life for herself and them.
