      Why can’t people see this? WHY? My sister actually told someone to “shut the eff up” when they said this. She truly believes that a six-year-old taken in to her tiny little city is jeopardizing her life. But she also shares Donald Trump’s posts on Facebook, so...

      no, they can’t legally do anything at all if the federal government relocated refugees to their states

      but setting up a hostile environment and looking the other way when refugees are refused service, housing, jobs, etc... is a whole different story (think: no irish need apply)

      Thanks for the clarification! At least if it is not a legal barrier maybe great deals of shaming from decent human beings/the president etc could change their behavior pretty quickly? Maybe?     Ah, good old Governor Snyder. The man who gave us Michiganders lead in the Flint water supply (which was vehemently denied until recently), a road funding bill that not only fucks us long term, but that Michiganders rejected in a vote last year. Who made ample cuts and loopholes for his business pals, raped our education system, had his lapdog Schuette piss away taxpayer money to fight ACA and marriage equality until the very end..

    Fuck I could list shit all day. Tl;dr, no one wants to be here. Any Michigander with a lick of sense is planning their escape within the next couple of elections.

      Most fire hydrants in Detroit don’t work. Detroit firefighters don’t have proper healthcare, or basic supplies. Detroit has an impressively high rate of arson.

      Our prisoners were fed maggots and spoiled food by Aramark, the same company that feeds school children and people at U of M hospital.

      AG Schuette is fighting every clean energy policy that comes our way.

      Michigan is the conservatives privatization wet dream.

      America’s shittiest governors? Sure. Shittiest state governments? Okay. But calling them the shittiest states is absolutely unfair. There are good people in Alabama and Texas working to make their states better and more welcoming, and dismissing an entire state like that is hurtful and counterproductive.

      Bentley is an absolute embarrassment and has made discriminatory, xenophobic statements before. I hate that he’s now making them against people who are so desperately in need of asylum, and I wish cooler heads would prevail here.

        Nah, I live in Michigan and have my whole life. It’s a shitty state with shitty legislators. Folks got a little too Tea Party crazy the past couple of elections... I think were 48th-50th in terms of state corruption.
