The difference is that “The Boondocks” is funny first, has stories and well developed characters, and the politics are organic.

This reminds me of the conservative attempts at making right of center comedy shows.

Just another example of why art doesn’t work when it’s designed to adhere to the personal politics of the target audience. In just a few panels, the author manages to be heavy handed, too crude in its deconstruction of Don Lemon, and appropriate a Hispanic culture she is not a part of.

Incidentally, if you are a person of color who thinks you can speak for the experiences of every other minority culture, you are actually being anti-white in addition to appropriating the other minority culture. Shame, shame, shame.

You can’t really be too crude to Don Lemon.

Kicking Don Lemon in the nuts wouldn’t be “too crude”. I do, however agree entirely with you on the fact that they should be “funny first”.

Thing is, The Boondocks was...you know, funny?

(And this isn’t just the TV show: mind you, dear God, the first three seasons of that had me and my (if we’re doing this—white as hell, and Mizzou students at that) roommates busting up at it. And that was BEFORE the “Pause” episode.)

I suppose you’re not the audience they’re seeking.

About 5. There’s Comptonia, Somaliland, Ancient Egypt, Congo, and Zululand.

I fucking hate Whoopi (RIP Legend) and Raven.

Yep. All the racist trolls have no real life...so they’re here being hateful and crying about reverse racism.

They are all over gawker media because of the Paris attacks. Came to overwhelm the comments sections with xenophobia and anti-Muslim propaganda. They are skimming the comments sections of every post.

‘The Boondocks’ is one of my all time favorite cartoons/comics, but nothing I saw or read in (H)afrocentric touched me at all. The art is pretty good (or more accurately the drawing), but whatever message is trying to break through means little to me.

        Maybe Im old...

        Have a great day!

PS I am literally listening to the ‘Adult Swim’ marathon web broadcast of ‘Black Dynamite’ as I write this.

The drawings in this comic are amazing! Such fine details visually are stunning. Art has a way of moving a message which is perfectly executed here. Definitly checking out.

Wait was this post written by Jason Parham (as my comment box is now saying), or by Juliana Smith, creator of this comic?
