This field is so bad, my dad the life long, yellow tail republican, said he has no choice but to vote for Clinton! This is also the same man that stood by the “Bill Clinton lied under oath!” for years. HA.

In word and deed she is a centrist Republican so your dad should feel okay.

I always hated what the last election did to Romney. Disagree with his policies/religion but to call him a “bad person” was just cruel. He came from a privileged background but the moment he came into his trust fund he gave every dollar of it to charity. Yes he was almost certainly aided in getting a good job by his father but to say he was a greedy and evil man is simply disingenuous.

Maybe punt on 2016 and use this as your rebuilding year. Fire your coaching staff, your general manager, sell the team if need be, sign some project free agents and try again next season.

The problem is the GOP has been like that for the past 2 presidential elections in addition to this one.

They fail miserably, there are a lot of follow up articles in the press on what went wrong and what they can learn and how to come back, the midterm elections give them hope, then they fail again at the presidential stage- partially because they so get overconfident that they are right and people agree with them that they don’t realize how damaging the crazies are to them.

Remember last election when all the pre-election polls were clearly wrong/bias and that Romney was totally going to crush Obama...and then the results mirrored the polls and the GOP just looked like fools?

Honestly a Hillary win wouldn’t be the end of the world for Republicans. She’s generally more conservative than Obama and besides, Republicans control pretty much everything else in this country. She wouldn't be able to do much.

So is it only people that will blindly follow any Republican candidate that are supporting Trump and Carson at this point? I mean moderate republicans and people who are on the fence about their party can’t seriously be thinking about voting for either of them.

If a slab of granite got the GOP nomination, I guarantee that those folks would still vote for it over Hillary/Socialism/Communism/Godlessness/BENGHAZI or whatever it is they think the Dems stand for.

ETA: Remind your moderate GOP friends that if they vote for someone like this, they can no longer consider themselves moderates. They’ve embraced the crazy just as much as the rest of the back-country yahoos out there.

Could you imagine the terrible slogans for a slab of granite?

“SOLID AS A ROCK” Slab of Granite ‘16

“UNMOVABLE IN IT’S POSITION” Slab of Granite ‘16

“BEDROCK OF THE COUNTRY” Slab of Granite ‘16

“WILL ACTUALLY BE USED IN WALL TO KEEP MEXICANS OUT” Slab of Granite ‘16

It would be fun to watch a shit show convention with no clear winner, wouldn’t it? I mean, we sort of deserve it for sitting through at least 2 whole seasons of the Real Fuckheads of the Republican Party, no?

Only if they do it Hunger Games style. And then we take the winner and throw them down an active volcano. America would be so much better off if I got to make all the rules.

Does anyone else remember 2008, when Romney was considered the “conservative” to McCain’s “moderate” in the GOP primaries?

Yep, but they’ve sold the public that its the left that’s getting more extreme. So, let’s compare:

FDR to Carter to Clinton to Obama
Roosevelt to Ike to Reagan to Bush II

Both parties are moving right, with very little left, left.
