Maybe someone should remove his heart from his chest cavity since he clearly isn’t using it. What a reprehensible human being.

Good. Research show that children raised in same-sex households have poorer outcomes. You want to redefine the family, good on you but children need a mother and father for optimal development.

Can you produce said research? I know you religious types are often confident in things that don't exist, so you'll have to excuse me for being skeptical of your bullshit.

The study saying gays are unfit parents was by religious bigot/pseudoscientist Mark Regnerus. It has been completely debunked, and triggered investigations of the peer process review. The university that employed Regnerus even disavowed the study. To cite it, then, is conclusive proof that someone is a bigot, an idiot, or a liar.

I believe he was one of the “experts” called during what ended up being the dismantling of Michigan same-sex marriage ban (which was put on a Appeals Court hold, which eventually led to the national case before the Supremes). The media tore his ass apart in the analysis of the trial.

Gawker should start a “Douche of the Day” award. I nominate this “judge” as Douche of the Day

Unfortunately, these days it’d be more like “Asshat of the Hour” and even then I think we’d cycle through these winners too quickly.

Yeah this judge has a history, but every time a story like this comes up now, someone should give Kim Davis a boot to the head just on principle.

Sorry, but since she said herself that she was thriving on the attention? I’m going to deliberately forget she exists.

(As long as her office keeps issuing licenses, that is. Whatsername is only important as a footstamp re human progress.)

The story is surprising for the opposite reason from what many may think. Salt Lake City has become quite progressive (a real “blue oasis” in Utah), and its mayor, Ralph Becker is very progressive, and got re-elected after doing all of the following [Wiki]:

In November 2009, Becker signed into law non-discrimination ordinances that forbid landlords and employers to deny housing or jobs due to sexual orientation or gender identity.[2]

In December 2013, Becker officiated over some of the first same-sex marriages performed in the state of Utah.[3]

In February 2014, Becker signed the Freedom to Marry Petition,[4] a non-partisan declaration that “all people should be able to share in the love and commitment of marriage

So with all of that in mind, it’s sad to hear of this troglodyte Family Court Judge going the Kim Davis route of ignoring current law. Hopefully the mayor can do something about this.

Salt Lake’s mayors (County and City) have nothing to do with this case. The women live in a small town in southern Utah, nowhere in Salt Lake’s jurisdiction.

If only these parents had testified that they’d dug up a stone box from under a tree and found golden plates inside telling them to start a religion based on polygamy, then the judge in Utah would’ve awarded them custody of all the kids. All the kids in Utah.

But only those parents can read what is on the golden plates. No one else can do that. The parents are the only ones who can translate.

Pending an appeal of the ruling, she will instead be pulled from this stable, loving home and cycled back into the foster system.

I am not quite understanding this? Does this mean that until the appeals process is finished, she will stay in her stable home? Or that she is pulled out of the home until the appeals process has run?

Jinni has a little cold so slow in the head, here....

It is my understanding that the appeal has to take place before the child is placed.

Thank you for the quick response, and for reporting on this.

I hope that, if the appeal is successful, some censure of the judge be included.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: MOVE THE FUCK OUT OF THESE BACKWARDS HILLBILLY BOWLS OF SHIT PLACES. Move to Salt Lake. Do anything there. Just move the fuck out. the only way to get back at these bastards is in the pocketbook. It goes for Kentucky, goes for Missouri and it goes for every backwards trash place that is ruled over by bigots.

I know you mean well, but I don’t think this is the answer. We can’t just let the bigots hold dominion over vast portions of the country. If the good people want to live there, I want them to live there. I’m almost, almost ready to send in the 82nd Airborne in their defense.
